It’s that time of year again. Christmas is mere days away and for TOWIE fans, this can mean only one thing: The Only Way Is Essexmas is be returning to our screens VERY soon.

Following the end of series 29 (yep, twenty nine) of the Brentwood-based show, which it’s safe to say was a pretty explosive season, the cast have been busy filming the annual Christmas special.

At the centre of A LOT of the drama has been the fall out between Chloe Brockett and Liam ‘Gatsby’ Blackwell – with Liam’s new girlfriend Dani Imbert never far from the action.

And Chloe – who narrowly avoided being axed from the show when a number of her contemporaries were sent packing in a huge cull earlier this year – was also embroiled in her own drama with James ‘Lockie’ Lock and his ex girlfriend Yazmin Oukhellou. Fans recently saw Yaz confront Chlo when she found out that she and her ex had a fling earlier this year.

While the series is over, there's never a dull moment in Essex and the drama is sure to continue even at Christmas time. Will Chloe B's feud with the Sims sisters ever end? Has Roman Hackett made up with Dani and Gatsby after their furious finale bust-up? Can James 'Diags' Bennewith finally find love? We hope at least some of these questions will be answered in the special episodes.

Will there be a TOWIE Christmas special in 2021?

It's set to be a very merry Christmas for TOWIE fans have ITV have confirmed that there will be a The Only Way is Essexmas special this year and we're getting not one, but two episodes. Hurrah.

There's no better place to start than the birth of the 'vajazzle', a crystal encrusted pattern that can be applied to a woman's nether regions to make their bits looks fancy and elegant. Beaut babe. After Amy Childs and Sam Faiers filmed this scene and it had aired, this was the only thing the nation was talking about, with salons across the country starting to offer the beauty treatment so fans of the show could replicate their idols and be a true Essex women.

What can we expect from the TOWIE Christmas special 2021?

The Only Way is Essexmas has traditionally delivered some of the best TV fodder of our times – remember when Gemma ‘The GC’ Collins made a surprise appearance in 2019, showing off of three stone weight loss?

"PEACE on EARTH 🌎 when the GC rocks up on the Christmas special of TOWIE 🎄wearing ..... my own collection of course 🎁 this is my Christmas gift to you 🎁," she wrote on Instagram. Is it time for another scene-stealing return to our screens, Gem?

And during the TOWIE Christmas special in 2020 Georgia Kousoulou and Tommy Mallet shared the incredible news that they were expecting their first child together.

Their son Brody was born in May, and after taking some time away from TOWIE to film a spin off show called Baby Steps, they promised they wouldn’t be gone for long.

Series 29 end with Chloe Sims’ extravagant 40th birthday party, and Georgia, Tommy and Bobby Norris and Harry Derbidge – who both stepped back from the series earlier this year after some nasty rows – were all in attendance. Will they be returning for a Christmas special?

Ahead of the show hitting our screens, the official TOWIE Instagram account teased, "There's a secret kiss, fireworks and a few surprise returns too..." Oh, we can't wait to tune in.

Who is taking part in the Christmas special?

We're expecting all of the usual TOWIE regulars including Chloe Sims and her sisters Demi and Frankie, Pete Wicks, James Lock, Chloe Brockett, Dan Edgar, Amber Turner, Liam 'Gatsby' Blackwell, Dani Imbert, Roman Hackett, Amy Childs, Saffron Lempriere and James 'Diags' Bennewith to take part.

Absolutely Ascot star Angel Bo Stanley and Love Island's Jack Fincham made regular appearances in series 29 so we wouldn't be surprised to see them pop up on The Only Way is Essexmas.

It's also been confirmed that axed cast members Courtney Green, Chloe Meadows and Ella Wise are set to return for the Christmas special and, honestly, we can't wait to see them on our screens again.
