However some Islanders are actually friends or know each other before they even step foot into the villa.

Shortly after Zara Lackenby-Brown arrived in the villa and caused a stir, it came to light that she knew Olivia Hawkins before the show. The Islanders had previously commented on each others Instagram accounts, they appeared in Dapz's music video for Take You Away and David Salako confirmed it on social media.

In news no one was prepared for, apparently Love Island 2022 star Tasha Ghouri and Love Island 2018 star Georgia were friends before they went onto the ITV2 show. The Islanders were reportedly 'inseparable' but following a 'bad fallout' they're no longer friends.

They wasn't in the Love Island 2022 villa at the same time but it turns out, Lacey Edwards and Billy Brown actually dated before going on the show.

Love Island fans discovered that under an Instagram photo of Davide Sanclimenti, Gemma Owen's ex Jacques O'Neill had commented on it, uncovering that they followed and were friendly with each other way before they met in the villa. Very fishy.

They may not have been friends before meeting in the villa but Sherif Lanre revealed that he actually slid into Anna Vakili's Instagram DMs before going on the show.

When it was announced that Chuggs Wallis was heading into the villa, Hugo Hammondwas quick to reveal that they actually know each other. Turns out they're friends after going to Oxford Brooks university together.

Okay so technically they were not friends but after Georgia Steel spotted Amber Davies on a night out, she asked the Love Island 2017 star for some advice. On Lorraine, Amber explained, "I saw her in a bar and she said to me, 'Can you put me forward?' I said, 'Yeah, that's fine, I'll do it.' Her mum just said to me it was actually me, then I put two and two together. It was perfect. I'm a little scout. ITV need to give me a job."

They were the 2019 couple no one saw coming but after Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard went official with their romance, there wereclaims that they'd known each other for YEARS. It all came about after a Dancing With The Stars pro claimed they'd 'cast eyes' at each other backstage years before, back when Curtis was on the show as a professional dancer and Maura visited the set a few times. Hmm.
We've seen a lot ofLove Island stars recouple outside of the villa but have you ever thought about the Islanders who dated before going on the show?
During the 2016 series, the Islanders were floored when Tom Powell's ex-girlfriend Emma-Jane Woodhams entered the villa.
When Chloe Crowhurst went on the show a year later, TOWIE's Jon Clark hit out at her and claimed they were in a relationship and was shocked to see her on the Love Island line-up. However she went on to deny his claims.
Then in 2019 a similar set of events happened when Charlie Frederick claimed that he was dating Arabella Chi when she went into the villa and thought they were in a relationship.
Arabella hit back at his claims and admitted that although they were seeing each other "about a month" before she went into the villa she added, "He knew it wasn't going to be like a full relationship".
We'll never forget Jack Fincham's ex-girlfriend Ellie Jones entrance into Casa Amor... It left Dani Dyer in a flood of tears and Love Island received a lot of Ofcom complaints.
And in Love Island 2022, Gemma Owen's ex Jacques O'Neill stepped into the villa as a bombshell.
