It turns out many of this year's contestants on the lookout for love knew each other before even entering the Spanish villa. Failing that, they are pals with a reality TV star or, failing THAT, they're linked to somebody who has already starred on the dating show.
We could make a list as long as the number of people who fancied Zachariah Noble that features all the Islanders who had met each other prior to their time on Love Island 2023.
Leah Taylor is of course BFFs with Love Island 2019 icon, Maura Higgins, which is the reason the Irish Islander lost her mind when Leah entered the villa.
Love Island 2021 finalist Toby Aromolaran is besties with Tyrique Hyde and even a TOWIE fave admitted to knowing both Toby and Tyrique.
Sharing a pic on her Instagram, Chloe Brockett revealed she shares a past with Tyrique, but it turns out it's not just other reality TV stars that are pals with this year's contestants.
Recently dumped Islander, Montel McKenzie chatted exclusively to Closer about which of his villa mates he knew before joining the romance reality show.
"I knew Ty going in," Montel explained, "we're from the same area, we played football together a lot."
Is Tyrique just friends with every person on the planet?
"Zach went to my school actually," Montel added. "Which I think a lot people don't know about."
Montel was joined by his partner, Leah Taylor, who he was dumped from the villa with, and even she wasn't aware of the connection.
"To your high school?" Leah quizzed.
"Yeah," Montel nodded.
"Oh my God I didn't know that," she gasped. "Shocker."
Look at us educating couples. We plant the seeds and just watch them grow.
"Yeah we weren't there for the same time for long but yeah," Montel added.
