As Katie Price shrugs off her troubles by focusing on twins and marriage with new fiancé Kris, pals worry two newborns and a wedding will push her over the edge
She couldn’t contain her smiles last week as she announced her engagement to on/off toyboy Kris Boyson on Loose Women, revealing how she “wants more kids”, having suffered two miscarriages while in their year-long relationship.
But behind the happy façade, close pals fear Jordan – who admitted she wants twins after filming a recent visit to an IVF clinic for her reality TV show My Crazy Life – is on a path to self-destruction after her most troubled year yet.
A source says, “Katie always needs to shock and to have drama or a new project to focus on. She can’t ever be alone, and always thinks a man and babies are the solution to every issue in her life.
"But her friends are very worried she’s not in the right headspace to make such a huge decision and add even more stress to her life after a very challenging year. They fear it could destroy her by wrecking what little stability she has left.”
Jordan, 41, fell into a chaotic spiral after the end of her third marriage to Kieran Hayler collapsed last year.
She was initially linked to footballer Shane Duffy, before coupling up with personal trainer Kris, 29, before they briefly split while she dated Essex businessman Alex Adderson, 25.

One of Katie's lowest-profile relationships, she was engaged to Gladiators star Ace - real name Warren Furman – from 1997. The 47 year old was engaged to Jordan for two years, presenting her with a £3,500 diamond ring before they split in 1999.

Her roller-coaster life continued to lurch from one disaster to the next as it was revealed she’d blown her £45m fortune, neglected her “decrepit” Sussex mansion, appeared in court multiple times for driving offences charges – the latest of which is still ongoing – and was slapped with a restraining order relating to Kieran’s girlfriend, Michelle Penticost, following a foul-mouthed tirade outside the school.
In May, the mum-of-five appeared intoxicated as she flashed her breasts and snogged a drag queen while judging a Porn Idol competition.

Despite her unstable recent behaviour, Katie claimed in her interview last week, “Things are actually going well. I’ve got the man, the ring, life is fantastic...I’m happy.” But pals aren’t convinced and worry she’s not recovered from the trauma of last year.
The source says, “Katie’s mates wish she’d just take some time out. She’s had a really rough ride of it lately and they don’t feel she’s out of the woods yet. She’s not cleared her debts, the house is still is disarray, another court case looms and she’s looking for a distraction.
"They wish she’d just take it easy and look after herself rather than add a wedding and babies into the mix. She’s happy to get married while she’s pregnant, and doesn’t think she’s in a position to wait now that she’s in her forties. But Kris worries that twins – or even just one baby – could be too much.”

Last week Jordan also revealed she’d suffered two miscarriages during her relationship with Kris, adding her chances of conceiving were low due to her age. She also revealed she “wouldn’t rule out” adopting, having already announced her plans to adopt a child from Nigeria at the start of the year.
And pals say they’re nervous more heartache could follow if she keeps trying to get pregnant.
The source says, “She’s optimistic and looking into all of her options, but friends can’t bear to see her go through any more heartache let alone think about her being in the right place to be a mum.
"They feel her surgery is just like her engagements – she wants a quick fix to being happy. Rather than continuing to work on herself, she just thinks another wedding and a child will make her happy.”
Meanwhile, pals are concerned that Jordan’s rock – her mum Amy, 64 – may not be around to support her daughter, as she was diagnosed with a terminal lung condition in 2017.
The source adds, “Amy and Katie are very close, and she’s a very hands-on grandma to all the kids. Kate’s pals are concerned that if anything goes wrong with Kris or when she needs help with the baby and Amy isn’t able to support her, then Katie will fall to pieces.”
