A dramatic picture of her bruised cheek and split lip shocked fans last week, after mum-of-five Jordan claimed she’d suffered a horrific attack while watching TV at home.
The former model – real name Katie Price – was taken to hospital after alleging she’d been punched during an “unprovoked attack” at 1.30am, before fleeing to her 18-year-old son Harvey’s home nearby.
A police spokesperson confirmed that officers were called by an ambulance crew, who’d treated a woman who had “sustained a facial injury, which required hospital treatment”.
A man in his 30s was arrested a short time later on suspicion of assault and was placed on bail until 20 September.
Now, friends reveal they fear the mum of five – who has said she is “devastated” by the incident – could spiral into the “dark place” she was in three years ago, when she admitted herself to rehab for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after having suicidal thoughts. She turned to therapy at the time and now her friend and fellow model Danielle Lloyd, who is also desperately worried for Jordan, is urging her to continue with the sessions following her alleged assault.
Danielle, 37, says, “It was totally heartbreaking to hear about Katie’s ordeal. I texted her as soon as I heard, but I don’t think she has her phone. It really struck me, because I love Katie. If it’s true that she was assaulted in her home, I expect she’ll be totally traumatised and would need therapy.”
And insiders say that family members are also concerned.
A source says, “Katie is emotionally vulnerable and her family are worried for her. She’s been through the mill over the last few years, and she is just drained from it all. She has suffered from PTSD recently, and there’s the fear that she could be triggered again.”
Last week, the star beefed up security at her £2m mansion – which was not where the alleged attack happened – while she stayed with friends.
Since leaving rehab last April – which helped her emotionally deal with a series of personal upsets, including ex Kieran Hayler cheating on her for a third time and ending their marriage; her whirlwind engagement to Kris Boyson ending bitterly; her mum Amy’s tragic diagnosis with a terminal illness and bankruptcy – Jordan has had regular therapy to help her cope with her traumas.
At the beginning of last year, she confessed she’d “hit rock bottom” and was in “a dark place” after self-medicating with drugs and alcohol, which led her to have suicidal thoughts.
She said, “I wanted to commit suicide. I planned it, I did everything… Everything was on top of me, it was a build up. I’m only human, I’m strong but there’s only so much you can take and I could have either committed suicide or got help.

Concerns grew for her as she was pictured having wild parties, and admitted to going on three-day drug binges, even being filmed rapping “I love coke” during one night out.
At the time, it was said that Peter Andre, 48 – Jordan’s first husband, with whom she shares Junior, 16, and Princess, 14 – and Kieran, 34, her third husband and dad to her youngest children Jett, eight, and Bunny, seven, had been trying to stage an intervention for the sake of their children.

And an insider tells Closer that the exes have both reached out to make sure Jordan – who got engaged to car dealer Carl Woods in April – is safe and well.
“Pete and Kieran have been very supportive and genuinely concerned for her wellbeing,” says the source. “Katie is the mother of their children, so they worry about her and want her to be safe and happy.
“Katie really appreciated them reaching out and it’s given her some comfort, which she needs at this time because she is still in shock. Having everyone stepping up to make sure she is OK is really helping keep her spirits up during an otherwise really upsetting time.”
