Experts warn: ‘Katie Price’s Peter Andre obsession is ruining her life’

She checked into rehab four weeks ago, having seemingly hit rock bottom – but Jordan made headlines again last week following the release of her controversial new memoir and the bombshells it revealed.

Jordan – real name Katie Price – sparked further speculation last week when she was pictured enjoying a dinner date and shopping for lingerie with on/off fiancé Carl Woods, 32, while still in rehab.

In the ex-Loose Women panellist’s new book, Harvey and Me, Jordan – real name Katie Price – accuses her ex-husband Peter Andre, 48, of “[not having any] meaningful involvement” with her disabled eldest son Harvey after their four-year marriage ended in 2009.

She claims Harvey, 19 – who has Prader-Willi syndrome, autism and blindness – was abandoned by his biological dad, footballer Dwight Yorke, when he was a baby, and that Pete became his “daddy” when they married in 2005. The ex-couple also share son Junior, 16, and daughter Princess, 14.

Describing Pete’s relationship with Harvey after their split, Jordan, 43, writes, “Our marriage might have been over, but Pete was his daddy. Harvey used to visit Pete most weekends, but because of his medical needs, he had to be accompanied by a trained nanny. For whatever reason, that didn’t work for Pete, and it started to slowly stop.”

She also shares her disappointment that neither her second husband, Kieran Hayler – with whom she shares son Jett, eight, and daughter Bunny, seven – or Pete have supported her campaigns, such as Harvey’s Law, her fight against online bullying that was launched after Harvey was targeted by trolls.

But the public shaming is said to have made Pete “furious”. The singer – who married second wife Emily MacDonagh in 2015 and had Amelia, seven, and four-year-old Theo, with her – has reportedly instructed his legal team to contact his ex-wife.

A source tells Closer, “Pete is sick of Katie’s lies and being dragged into her life. He’s tried on so many occasions to see [Harvey].”

This isn’t the first time the former couple have been embroiled in a legal battle or war of words. In 2009, Jordan was legally instructed to pay Pete undisclosed damages and make a public apology after accusing him of cheating on her and claiming he didn’t genuinely care about Harvey.

But Jordan has stoked the fire yet again by bringing up in her book that Harvey plays her and Pete’s wedding song, A Whole New World, and sings the lullabies Pete serenaded him with as a baby whenever he sees him.

“It once happened when Pete’s wife Emily was there as well. We all just stood there while Harvey was playing A Whole New World on full volume... Kids do love to make situations awkward, don’t they?” she says in the book.

The source adds, “Katie knew she would ruffle Pete’s feathers, but she doesn’t care. He was a big part of her life, and the family unit they had was one of the happiest times of her life. Despite the heartbreak, she wants to remember it.”

Jordan seemed to have found lasting love when she settled down with Pete in 2003. The iconic coupled lived in a £2.5m mansion with their children, raking in £3m a year with their hit reality TV shows. Jordan’s career also flourished – she made her mark as a best-selling author and established herself in the notoriously highbrow equestrian industry.

But since her split from Pete twelve years ago, Jordan’s life has spiralled.

Despite once being worth £45m, she was declared bankrupt in 2019. She’s also had a further two failed marriages – to Alex Reid and Kieran – as well as broken engagements to Leandro Penna and Kris Boyson.

While she’s currently engaged to Carl Woods, 32– and showed off her engagement ring last week, as well as being pictured on a dinner date with him – their one-year relationship was plagued with split rumours last month. Her recent car smash, following an all-night drink and drug binge – which led to her entering rehab, as well as facing a court appearance on 15 December – was said to have been sparked by a row between the pair. The hearing will determine if she is to be jailed, as she has admitted driving while disqualified for the sixth time.

She’s also undergone more than ten cosmetic procedures since her split from Pete and has had health issues over botched surgeries, with a liposuction earlier this year resulting in her needing a blood transfusion.

And in September this year, she was allegedly attacked in her own home, which is currently being investigated by police. It came just weeks before she entered rehab for drug abuse – her third trip in as many years.

But Closer’s psychologist Emma Kenny warns Jordan – who has previously admitted she has kept memorabilia from her wedding to Pete – that some of the decisions she’s made may be a result of the unhappiness she’s been feeling since their divorce.

She says, “It’s clear Pete made her feel safe and he genuinely loved her. Some people can never get over a love like that.

“He’s moved on, with a new wife and more children, and she has tried to move on, and has had more kids, but her relationships have failed. She has cascaded, which breeds resentment. Jordan feels like she’s had something taken from her – their love story and the success, both professionally and personally, that came with it.

“She hasn’t been able to find the solid foundation she had with Pete since – and she thought Harvey had a strong bond with him, too. When something like that is broken, you feel abandoned.”

But while the public support for her relationship with Harvey has been overwhelming, Jordan received huge backlash after last month’s crash, with fans turning against her and alleging that she “could have killed someone”.

Last week, she released a statement saying she takes “full responsibility” for her mistakes, but Emma adds that, unless she seeks further professional help to work through her past, she’s destined to continue this toxic cycle and will never move on.

She says, “Jordan’s Pete obsession is ruining her life. The only way she can truly recover and heal is if she lets past wounds heal.”
