Katie Price turns to drink to numb agony of ruined face

Following her sixth major nip/tuck in just three months, Katie Price’s wild nights out spark fears for her health

Still sporting the stitches and swelling from her latest round of cosmetic surgery, Katie was spotted looking worse for wear as she slid off a stool during a boozy night club performance last week, grabbing onto the wall to steady herself.

Shocked fans, who had turned up to see the 41-year-old reality star perform her new dance track Hurricane, watched her stagger around the club, slurring her words, before reportedly shouting, “F**k it, I’m going to sing two songs for you tonight.”

Onlookers were quick to blast the mum-of-five – who allegedly missed her son Jett’s sixth birthday last week due to pain from a face and eye lift – with one responding to a video of her being propped up by boyfriend Kris Boyson as she fell about, saying, “I can’t watch any more of it. It’s too embarrassing.”

While another took a shot at her parenting skills, commenting, “What about her poor kids?”

One worried fan even likened the ex-glamour model to former Playboy star Anna Nicole Smith, who tragically died in 2007 at just 39 from a drugs overdose, saying, “This is getting beyond crazy and has all the feel of the Anna Nicole Smith story whereby she’s constantly out of it, surrounded by enablers.”

Despite vowing to curb her reckless behaviour following a spell in rehab late last year for PTSD after falling into a pattern of booze binges and cocaine use to cope with her spiralling life, Katie, shows no signs of slowing down. And pals fear the star is turning to alcohol again in a bid to numb her emotional and physical pain.

A source says, “Katie is at rock bottom and can’t see a way out, so she’s been hitting the booze, which she’s worryingly told pals is ‘her only escape’. She’s said she feels like all her problems melt away after a few drinks.

“There’s no denying that her emotional and mental state is all over the place right now and everyone is extremely worried. She’s wanting to drink every day and insists it helps calm her down and feel happy.”

And while Katie recovers following her sixth major cosmetic procedure in just three months, insiders fear she’s also using alcohol as a crutch as she struggles with the effects of her latest round of surgery.

She could barely open her eyes and her face looked painfully pulled in a series of gruesome snaps taken after she went under the knife in Turkey earlier this month. And insiders reveal she’s already regretting her decision to have more work so quickly.

A source says, “Katie has been in agony following her recent ops, even missing spending time with the kids. She always rushes into surgery and forgets how hard the recovery process is.

"She puts on this front, insisting she’s happy with the results and telling herself it’ll all be worth it in the end, but deep down she’s worried about how scarred she’ll be and thinks her face looks pulled. Her friends believe alcohol is another way for her to numb the physical pain, and also her fears that she may have ruined her looks.”

The source adds, “Her mum Amy is incredibly worried and has begged her to get help – even saying she won’t tolerate being around her if she doesn’t sort herself out. But Katie just thinks she’s invincible and insists it’s just another empty threat.”

Katie has endured a turbulent relationship with alcohol over the years. In 2016, she described herself on Loose Women as a “binge drinker” – adding, “If I’m going to go out, it’s all or nothing – I just go out and get drunk.”

She vowed to give up booze for a whole year in 2017 following a shocking drunken rant at a company’s Christmas party – where she flashed her boobs in the toilet and was dragged from the stage after swearing several times and calling the audience “little sh**s” – insisting, “When I drink I’m a nightmare. It doesn’t agree with me.”

But she fell off the wagon just three months later when she was snapped hitting the town to celebrate then-husband Kieran Hayler’s 30th birthday – downing champagne and shots, according to onlookers at the London hotspot.

She’s also claimed her marriage to ex Peter Andre was often rocked by rows over her drinking, revealing, “Pete makes it feel like I do have a problem and he turns it into such a big deal.”

Pete, 46, even once said of his ex, “If she’s been drinking, I know she’s capable of anything. The devil gets inside her and she’s a nightmare.”

While Jordan’s on-off flame Kris, 30, revealed their romance briefly crumbled last summer over alcohol, insisting, “We drifted apart because I was stopping her drinking.”

Giving an insight into her drinking behaviour, Jordan once admitted, “The fact is, I get paranoid that people are staring at me when I go out. When I’ve had a couple of cocktails I relax and forget about the stares.”

The source says, “Katie loves pushing herself to extremes, and while she knows alcohol is her nemesis, she so badly wants to escape reality that she’s lost all grasp of what’s at risk – including losing the children for good.

"Kris insists he’s trying to keep an eye on her, but says she’s out of control and he can’t force her to do anything she doesn’t want to do. But everyone’s now so concerned that they think an intervention needs to happen sooner rather than later before she ends up in hospital, or worse.”
