Let’s be honest, Celebs Go Dating isn’t exactly known for forming long-lasting couples. In fact, there are very few couples from the reality show that are still together - even Love Island and Married At First Sight have better track records than that.
That doesn’t mean that we aren’t obsessed with the show though. There’s something about witnessing our favourite reality stars struggle with the same dating faux pas as us that just makes us love them even more.
And to give Celebs Go Dating some credit, there are some couples that managed to continue off-screen. At least for a little while…
Ella Morgan and Alex James
Even before the current series of Celebs Go Dating had finished, former MAFS UK bride Ella Morgan hinted that Paul C Brunson, Anna Williamson and Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn had worked their magic and she had found love on the show.
Across the series Ella had been dating hair stylist Alex James and in the final episode of series 2024, he revealed that he had Ella’s name tattooed onto his shoulder - which is pretty wild considering they'd only been dating a few months...
Luckily they’re still going strong post filming and they've even gone Instagram official. Ella wrote, 'She’s finally off the market! Took a piece of the set home with me, met my match in my new man!'
Laura Anderson and Gary Lucy
It’s always exciting when the stars break the rules and hook up with one of their fellow celebs instead of a regular person (a normie if you will), and for the 2022 series Laura Anderson and Gary Lucy did just that.
After some serious chemistry on screen, the pair were soon sharing loved up snaps on their respective Instagrams. However by February the pair revealed that they had split.
But that’s not all, just days after news of their split broke, Laura revealed that she was pregnant with Gary’s baby. In September 2023 the adorable Bonnie was born and Laura became a mum and despite several attempts over the past two years, Laura and Gary aren’t together.
Megan Barton Hanson and Demi Sims
Megan Barton Hanson and Demi Sims have been dating on and off ever since they met back in 2019 on series seven of Celebs Go Dating. In fact, they were most recently linked in July 2024 when they were snapped arriving at a Sushi Samba together.
Apparently they weren’t able to make things work long term due to long distance, with Demi filming her family’s reality show House of Sims in America.
Alison Hammond and Ben Fusi
She’s now loved up with boyfriend David Pitman, but back in 2020 on Celebs Go Dating's Alison Hammond was dating audio technician Ben Fusi.
Admittedly their relationship did work outside the show for a bit but not for long.
Joey Essex and Stephanie Pratt
Way back on series one, Joey Essex (we’re talking his first stint obviously) and Stephanie Pratt made for an unlikely celeb pairing.
Their relationship only lasted three months though (longer than his relationship with Jessy Potts to be fair) and apparently things got pretty awkward.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, when asked if they're still in contact, Steph said, 'No, he hates me! I have no idea why he dislikes me so much but he did In Bed With Jamie [Laing] and said some rude things about me.
'We broke up over the phone when I was in LA and I've not seen him since.'
Tom Zanetti and Sophie Hermann
Speaking of unlikely celeb pairings, Tom Zanetti and Sophie Hermann’s relationship was one we never saw coming.
The DJ and the Made in Chelsea star – who he nicknamed The Duchess – managed to date for a full six months after filming, with Tom even making a cameo on Made in Chelsea at one point. Yes, it was just a cringe-inducing as you would expect.
Luckily the pair left things on good terms, it was merely that their different lifestyles meant they weren’t compatible. We could have told them that.
Kimberley Hart-Simpson and Shane Finlayson
Another six-month Celebs Go Dating relationship came in the form of Kimberley Hart-Simpson and Shane Finlayson who even said the L-bomb in the very last episode.
Announcing their split in May 2021 Kimberley shared, ‘After 6 months of dating Shane and I have decided to part ways. We are proud of our journey and respect each other immensely.
‘The show has been the best experience. Our journey after that even better but with the distance between us, work commitments and restrictions can naturally take its toll. Thank you for the love you have given us, it has not been wasted.’
Joshua Ritchie and Olivia Bentley
Yep, despite all of Olivia Bentley’s insistence that she hadn’t dated Joshua Ritchie - who is currently in a relationship with Sophie Piper - she recently admitted that the pair did have a brief fling during filming. Ultimately nothing came of it however.
