This week was a big week for our fave reality stars as anyone who is anyone was invited to ITV's Palooza party. What's that? Erm, imagine every reality star you've ever seen on telly in the same place wearing ballgowns in s**t, drizzly weather. There you go. But yes, stars of Love Island, TOWIE, The Real Housewives of Cheshire and Big Brother flocked to central London to celebrate being on the box for another year; or in the case of Love Island 2023 winner Sammy Root, to celebrate his first year on the box.

It might be a tad self indulgent as far as celeb bashes go, but at least it gets our favourite celebs yapping about themselves and each other, and boy did Sammy yap when Closer online caught up with him after following the star-studded bash of bashes.

For the benefit of those of you who didn't spend the night of Palooza stalking your fave ITV celebs on Instagram and TikTok, Sammy Root didn't actually spend the night hanging out with his Love Island cast mates, oh no, instead, he spent the evening rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names from....TOWIE – we're talking Dan Edgar and Roman Hackett.

Whenever a reality star spends a disproportionate amount of time hanging out with the cast and crew of a rival reality show, we obviously can't help but ponder – are they jumping ship?

Normally we're clutching at straws when we ask this question in the Closer HQ office over our third cuppa of the morning, but let's face it, we can all see cheeky chappy Sammy. In fact, squint a bit while watching any boys-only TOWIE and he might as well be there already.

During an exclusive chat with Sammy, Jess Harding's ex revealed that some of the TOWIE boys are already trying to persuade him to join the fold.

Sammy told us, "When I was at the Palooza, quite a few of the TOWIE guys were trying to twist my arm to get myself on there. I wouldn’t completely throw it out of the park, it’s something I’d consider."

Not an Islander FINALLY giving us exactly what we want to hear in an interview. Naturally, we had to remind him that he would have to move from Kent to Essex...

"I do need to move out. I’m only 22 but I think my parents are on my case to get myself out there. Essex is definitely somewhere I’d move to if it would help me out long-term."

Okay, now this sounding like TOWIE producers are yet to ask him. Awks.

When asked if he would date any of the ladies on the show, he said, "I think it’s early to say, there’s a lot of stunning girls. Not sure right now."

If Sammy were to join the cast of TOWIE he certainly wouldn't be the first Love Island star to make that shift, in fact, he would follow in the footsteps of some serious All Stars including Elma Pazar, Cara Delahoyde-Massey and Nathan Massey andKady McDermott.

Ben Pulsford is a Digital Writer for Closer online and heatworld, he's also a London-based drag queen called Beary Poppins who is only a little hurt that TOWIE producers never give him a call to taking part in TOWIE's drag episode. JUST SAYING. When he's not writing about TOWIE, he's manifesting an all TOWIE cast edition of Celebrity Big Brother.
