Earlier this summer, many TOWIE fans (not all) were left gagged after Amber Turner confirmed that she and Dan Edgar had officially called it quits after six years of somewhat turbulent dating.
The former couple had one of the most up and down relationships in reality telly history and, naturally, they let the majority of it play out on ITVBe for the public to watch.
However, since Amber made the split public knowledge via Instagram in May, the pair have remained uncharacteristically quiet about both the break-up and each other – which baffles us considering they are both still on TOWIE and the job of TOWIE stars is both air dirty laundry on camera/air dirty laundry on Instagram when not filming. Instead, Amber has spent the last few weeks living her best life with her girlies in Ibiza and Dubai, while Dan has mainly been hanging out with Diags in Essex.
But seriously, where's the shade? Where's the passive aggressive meme shares? Where's the tell-all interviews? Nothing. It's quiet in this corner of Essex - too quiet.
Ooo, but what's this we hear in the distance? A little shade-throwing from Amber Turner's corner? Finally.
We say shade...Amber shared an Instagram Reel from Love Island's official account recently, leaving an insinuatory caption about men's behaviour below it, and although she doesn't name Dan directly, well, let's not beat around the bush – we're all hearing the same thing, right?
Amber shared a clip of Whitney Adebayo giving Abi Moores some advice on the behaviour of men – mainly that their actions speak louder than their words (context: she was talking about Abi's relationship lukewarm relationship with Scott van-der-Sluis).
We get sharing anything that the iconic Whit says or does on Love Island, but it's Amber's caption for us. Amber added, "Actions always speak louder."
Now, we're fairly certain that Amber hasn't dated Scott before, so we can't help but wonder which member of the male species she might be referring to with this potentially shady post? We wouldn't want to imply anything, but consider our left eyebrow raised...and our eyes firmly set on Dan's camp.
In June 2023, Amber took to her Instagram stories to tell her legion of fans that although she wasn't going to post anything, the ongoing "speculation and questions" had forced her hand, leading her to confirm that her and Dan have officially split.
Amber wrote, "I wasn't going to post anything, but due to speculation and questions I feel like I need to. Yes, me and Dan have split. I honestly wish him the best for the future. Please respect our privacy at this time. Thank you."
Although the pair have remained fairly schtum about what went down otherwise, their TOWIE cast-mate James Lock exclusively told Closer how Dan was doing in the wake of the break-up, revealing, "[Dan's] good, he’s good as could be. It’s just difficult.
"I don’t get too involved, I’ve been at the receiving end when people get too involved and it’s not their business. I’ll see Dan at the weekend, I’m there for Dan as a mate. I know they’re going through a difficult time but I haven’t asked too many questions."
