Some Islanders returned to the villa for the final dumping but Konnor was nowhere to be seen

It can’t be denied - Love Island knows how to deliver a jaw-dropping twist. Bringing back Adam Collard for Love Island 2022 and Kady McDermott the following year for Love Island 2023 had us floored. Likewise, introducing Joey Essex for Love Island 2024 was a stroke of pure genius. We’re taking bets now on who will be the celebrity Islander for Love Island 2025 - our money is on Ella Rae Wise.

Love Island All Stars changed the game for twists when they invited the dumped Islanders from that series back to vote a couple out right before the final and Love Island 2024 thankfully decided to keep this. Much to the surprise of their fellow Islanders, Islanders including Uma Jammeh and Jess White strutted right back through those doors and great TV was made.

This resulted in Joey and Jessy Potts being dramatically dumped, and honestly we were all Samantha Kenny in that moment.

However, a couple of Islanders were noticeably absent, making us wonder what they could have done to be snubbed by producers. Especially when one of them was probably one of the nicest Islanders to ever grace the villa with his presence.

We’re talking of course about Konnor Ewudzi who was unceremoniously dumped alongside Lolly Hart just a few episodes before the Islanders slow-mo walked back in. We caught up with Konnor to ask why he didn’t make a comeback like his fellow Islanders and it turns out that he’s similarly in the dark about the decision.

“You know what, I didn’t actually get an invite back, and I don’t know why," he exclusively told us at the National Reality TV Awards.

"But it’s calm because I’ve had a very good time, I’ve been doing other events, I’ve been seeing other Islanders. I’m enjoying myself.”

We’d be a bit more curious if it was us who wasn’t invited back to say our piece, but Konnor is obviously an unbothered king. We don’t deserve you, Konnor. And anyway, his absence on that episode only left us wanting more of him, so it can only be a good thing.

Sarah O'Byrne has been writing for heat and Closer since May 2023, and she would invite Konnor Ewudzi back every season if she had the power.
