Series 34 of TOWIE looks set to turn back the clock to series one, two, and three levels of drama - what with a shocking break-up, a love triangle, a wild cast trip, a rocky romance, and more rivalries than we can keep track of, all set to play out on on our screens this season. All we seem to be missing is a new cast member...
We know, seamless.
Well, fret not TOWIE fans because we know for certain that newbie Freddie Bentley – who made a splash as Ella Rae Wise's new on-screen bestie last season – has recruited one of his family members into the fold. New on-set snaps have revealed that Freddie's Nan, Edna, has joined the cast, after she was spotted filming scenes earlier this week in Basildon, alongside her grandson, Dani Imbert and Ella.
We told you this series was giving those early season throwbacks – the show has been missing a beloved matriarch figure since we lost the iconic Nanny Pat (Mark and Jess Wright's nan) in 2015. We just hope Edna has her own version of Nanny Pat's Sausage Plait to serve up when the cast need some R&R after a long day of drama.
TOWIE bosses recently confirmed that series 34 of the ITVBe reality series would return to our screens on Sunday 25 August at 9pm, and frankly, our bodies and souls are ready. This ITV content drought since Love Island wrapped has been tough.
The latest series looks set to focus on the downfall of Harry Derbidge's relationship with Joe Blackman, which allegedly has something to do with Junaid Ahmed (Harry apparently finds something he doesn't like from Junaid on Joe's phone, sending shockwaves throughout the cast).
In an exclusive chat with Junaid at the National Reality TV Awards, the 'bitch with a heart of gold' told Closer Online, "This series of TOWIE has been absolutely crazy and we're only half way through. Honestly, expect the unexpected. It is a massive rollercoaster.
"I feel like it is honestly the best series of TOWIE we have ever had. You are going to be so shocked at what happens. Cyprus this time around has been eventful to say the least. Honestly, every single day, I was like, 'Nothing more can happened,' it happened. It's giving TOWIE series two and three. Like, crazy vibes. Crazy."
The series will be showing exactly what went down during the cast trip to Cyprus earlier this year and we cannot wait.
