This year's Love Island was an unforgettable one. The summer season that is, not the winter version.

No shade, but we can all agree that they nailed the casting for the second 2023 series, and one contestant who kept the drama hotter than the embers in the fire pit throughout was Love Island 2023 finalist/hottie Tyrique Hyde.

The semi-pro footballer entered the Spanish villa as an OG Islander and was coupled up with Ella Thomas from the get-go, although they had a rollercoaster of a romance with a few hundred rows, they ended up coming in third place and are still together.

We all knew that Ty was going to be a thrill to watch after it was revealed that he was besties with Love Island 2021 star, Toby Armolaran who was an absolute hurricane of chaos during his stint on the dating show two years ago.

Since leaving the villa, Toby started up his own podcast called 'Fancy a Chat?' and invites former Islanders on the show to talk about, well, pretty much everything.

Naturally, Ty made an appearance on the podcast recently and came clean about a couple of home truths, including the one thing he regrets about his Love Island experience.

"I'll be real," he started, "if anyone says to me, 'what do I regret?' I regret coming at Lochan [Nowacki] and I regret telling Whitney[Adebayo] to shush that day."

That is the correct answer. Viewers and villa mates alike were appalled when Ty told Whitney to 'shush,' and went in on Lochan for chatting to his girlfriend as if they're in some sort of couple or something. Oh wait...

"That's the only thing I regret the whole time I was in the villa," he continued, "I regret that because I shouldn't have come at Lochan because after I knew the ins and outs of it all he weren't really pillow talking, he weren't really breaking bro code. I just wanted to say something. I'll be real I just wanted to say something."

It all came to a head during The Grafties, the villa awards ceremony, when clips were shown revealing Lochan telling Whitney what Scott van der Sluis had been saying about Abi Moores, another Islander he was supposed to be into.

Ty had muttered, "Lochan be pillow-talking with his girl too much," which resulted in a back-and-forth row between Ty, Lochan and Whitney.

"Obviously I'm chatting to Lochan then Whitney's said something and my head's already gone, I've just gone, 'shush, man.' Do you know what I'm saying? But I shouldn't even have said that," he confessed, "I shouldn't have said that and I regretted that straight away."

Luckily, the trio are all pals again, which is honestly music to our ears because, talking of music, we cannot wait for Whitney and Ty to release their talent show song – they're currently in the studio recording it and everything.

Watch this space.
