As the whole world - or at the very least, our entire office - is glued to Love Island All Stars, it’s hard to imagine that anyone isn’t watching it. All Stars is not only one of the best Love Island series to have ever hit our screens, but it finally confirms our suspicions that all Islanders secretly know each other.

Even Islanders who did not appear on the same season end up rubbing shoulders outside the villa - like who could see the Kady McDermott/ Georgia Steel/ Joanna Chimonides friendship coming? Or an equally rogue relationship; Arabella Chi dating and even living with Wes Nelson. Honestly, we’d need an entire camera crew following around all 200+ Islanders all year round to keep up.

This idea that all former Islanders have history was backed up by the Love Island 2023 winner himself, Sammy Root.

Sammy won his season alongside then-girlfriend Jess Harding, but the pair called it quits just a few months after leaving the villa with their pockets stuffed full of that £50k prize.

Closer sat down with Sammy to discuss all things Love Island, and he has revealed yet another unexpected friendship; that of Sammy and the real winners of the winter series of Love Island 2023 Tom Clare and Casey O’Gorman.

Obviously, we knew Casey and Tom were besties, but how do they know Sammy?

He told us, “Just purely through coming off the show. Certain people, you just gravitate to, meet at events and stuff.”

Not only that, but Sammy revealed that one of the pair helped him through a particularly tough breakup. “Casey was really there for me as well through my break-up and that meant a lot to me. I just ended up spending a lot of time with them.”

Why the producers didn’t call Sammy up for All Stars to complete this trio we’ll never know.  Since Sammy appears to be single at the moment, he could have been a perfect fit. While he was briefly spotted with, shock, fellow Islander Faye Winter last year, the pair were quick to confirm that there’s nothing romantic between them.

By the sounds of it, there are plenty Islanders left over for another All Stars series, so let’s hope this is the new norm.
