Cast your minds back five weeks ago when the cast of Love Island 2023 was revealed and you’ll remember that TOWIE star Chloe Brockett was very vocal in her support of semi-pro footballer Tyrique Hyde.
Chloe dropped a major hint she and Tyrique were pals when she shared a picture of his Love Island promo shot and wrote, “Yes Tyyy @tyriquehyde.”
Of course, that piqued our interest when we saw it on social media as we begin to wonder just how Tyrique and Chloe knew each other. Well, luckily for us, Chloe how now revealed how they first met and it’s actually a really sweet story.
Chloe took to her Instagram yesterday to share a throwback photo of herself with Ty’s younger brother Mekhi and explained that they’d all been friends since they met in primary school.
“Throwback to when we was younger!” Chloe wrote. “For anyone wondering how I know Mekhi and Ty (I see there was an article in Closer tryna work out how 😂) I went to school with them! Primary and secondary.
“Mekhi is my age and Ty is two years older. Here is a pic from our last day of school.”
Firstly, you know us, Chloe, we’re always on the hunt for some juicy tea and secondly, thanks for finally clarifying how you know Tyrique - even if it has taken you five weeks.
Chloe isn’t Tyrique’s only TOWIE pal either and he’s also friends with Frankie Sims. Frankie, who rose to fame on TOWIE before quitting last year to launch House of Sims with her family, shared that she knew Tyrique last month as she opened up about her favourite Islanders this year.
She told her Instagram followers, “I think my favourite boy … so Tyrique [Hyde] is my friend already from home, he’s obviously from Essex so [I] love him!”
Tyrique is yet to open up about his celebrity connections on screen, but we can’t wait to grill him all about it when he leaves the villa.
