It's been weeks since Real Housewives of Cheshire star Rachel Lugo first posted a photo of her new granddaughter and now, for the first time, she's opened up about daughter Sophia Lugo's boyfriend and baby daddy.
Since she first appeared on the ITVBe show in 2017, RHOCheshire icon Rachel Lugo has proved time and time again that she is one multi-talented powerhouse of a woman.
Not only is she a telly star, but she's an influencer, a mother of five, an off-and-on property developer, and now a gorgeous granny, too. Rachel is such a bloomin' queen we have to frequently remind ourselves that she isn't actually an OG RHOCheshire cast member. She's got that Dawn Ward energy, though – and then some.
But who cares, she's the leader of the pack these days and all we can do is follow.
But this update isn't about Rachel, no – it's about a new queen on the Cheshire scene. Well, a baby princess, really. Yep, Rachel's equally beautiful daughter Sophia has given birth to her first child and now the reality star has cryptically revealed exactly why she hasn't spoken about her...son-in-law? Can we call him that?
"I haven't spoken about the dad. It's not my place to, but, there's things going on there," she explained on her Instagram Story.
The RHOCheshire star went on to talk about why she hasn't revealed her baby granddaughter's name, and said, "She has got a name, but Sophia hasn't announced it yet and I haven't gone into the whys or the circumstances, but there are reasons.
"And also, she's had a very cute newborn photoshoot done and one of the pictures has her name underneath. She's waiting for those photos because that's how she wants to put it out there. So, I respect that.
Rachel has previously criticised absent fathers.
In a scathing Instagram post late last year she wrote, "To all you amazing mums out there who pick up the slack when their dead beat dads refuse to pay any maintenance for them whatsoever... You are doing amazing."
Sophia's daughter was born on 7th January – a few days before the due date of 11th January – and has stolen everyone's hearts.
Rachel shared a photo on her Insta Story and commented on the original post saying, "She’s is so beautiful, so chilled, so happy. You were absolutely amazing Princess and you are an amazing mummy ❤️❤️ thank you for making me a nanna .. I’m so in love with her ❤️❤️."
We're not crying, you're crying...
Rachel wasn't the only Housewife to share her congratulations on the adorable post. Housewives old and new have been sharing the love, including Dawn Ward, Hanna Kinsella, Nicole Sealey, Seema Malhotra, Ester Dee, Sheena Lynch, Lystra Adams and Christine McGuinness.
In a recent catch up about the RHOCheshire Christmas special (which was a Christmas present to each and every one of us), we spoke to Rachel about her relationship with boyfriend Nick after THAT reunion moment, as well as Sophia's pregnancy.
It was only a phone chat, but we could genuinely hear Rachel's face light up when the topic of conversation turned to the apple of her eye – and her soon-to-be apple of her eye.
Rachel exclusively told Closer online that her daughter was doing "amazing".
At the time, she said, "It’s just under seven weeks left to go. We had the baby shower the other night. I’ve never seen such a glamorous, heavily pregnant woman. I certainly didn’t look like that!”
That very week week, Rachel posted a picture of herself and her daughter at the baby shower with a heart-warming caption. She wrote, "One word @sophialug0 Stunning!!! 33 weeks … not long now ❤️.
"Your baby shower was just gorgeous Sophia. You are so lucky to have such amazing friends around you … she is going to have lots of aunties for sure 🥰🥰.
"I love seeing the person you have become….Strong, confident, Independent and beautiful inside and out. You are going to be a brilliant mummy ❤️❤️ I love you so much. We will be just fine ❤️."
Back in October 2022, Rachel shared a first look at her granddaughter on camera. Rachel and her daughter Sophia had a 4 / 5D scan taken of the little one, and shared the details on Instagram.
"She looked so cute, my heart melted,' said the ITVBe star. And we can see her point. Isn't she lovely?
Earlier in the year, Rachel shared an image with her Instagram followers revealing that daughter Sophia is expecting a baby.
And Sophia is clearly laying the foundations to becoming a next-gen mummy blogger/influencer, after posting a picture with a sign reading 'WE ARE EXPECTING! DUE JANUARY 2023' next to an ultrasound scan, a personalised baby bodysuit and a collection of ADORABLE baby toys - all with a gorgeous wood meets monochrome aesthetic; someone thought this through. Mummy (well, granny) would be proud.
Sharing the image, Rachel posted, "🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰.
"I’m going to be a Nana 😍🥰 @sophialug0 ❤️".
And Rachel is clearly thrilled for Sophia, commenting on her Instagram, "My baby having a baby ❤️❤️ you are going to me a wonderful mummy Princess 🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️ I love you ❤️".
Aww, we do love a wholesome story on The Real Housewives of Cheshire. They're so rare.
Lystra wrote, "Congratulations Hun Glam ma 🙌🏾🎉".
While Dawn commented, "👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 welcome to my club ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️".
