There have been plenty of TOWIE and Love Island crossovers over the years like Georgia Harrison appearing on season three of the dating show in 2017 or iconic Islander Olivia Attwood joining the TOWIE cast two years after rising to fame in the villa – but we definitely didn’t see this latest one coming.
Essex royalty Demi Sims – who quit TOWIE last year to launch her own reality show alongside siblings Chloe, Charlie and Frankie – was chatting exclusively to Closer with Frankie ahead of the launch House of Sims when she spilled the tea about partying with Gemma Owen.
Demi revealed that she’d been liking Gemma’s pictures on Instagram and had even approached her on a night out with a PROPOSAL.
The youngest Sims sister told us, “She’s an absolute sort and I did ask her to marry me the other day.”
Frankie chimed in, “It was really embarrassing. Demi walked over to her, she was like, ‘I’m going to go and say hi to Gemma Owen’ then she came back and I was like, ‘Was she nice?’ and she said yeah. What did you say to her?”
“I walked over there and I said, ‘Do you fancy being Gemma Sims?’ I’m not even going to say what she said,” Demi laughed.
“I was like, ‘What? You didn’t even say hello, how are you? Nice to meet you?’” Frankie added, to which Demi replied, “I didn’t. That was the first time I’ve ever met her and that’s all I said.”
Frankie told us, “I was like, ‘That’s really embarrassing’. You don’t know how to be smooth.”
Somehow we don’t think Demi and Gemma will be dating any time soon, but the Love Islander wouldn’t be Demi’s first reality star girlfriend. The former TOWIE star briefly dated Megan Barton-Hanson when they appeared on Celebs Go Dating in 2019 and they even rekindled their romance earlier this year when they were pictured kissing in a park.
Demi’s also previously been in a relationship with Too Hot to Handle’s Francesca Farago, although their whirlwind four-month romance ended in tears in 2021.
Gemma, on the other hand, split from Luca Bish last year just months after they finished as runners-up on Love Island 2022.
