We were rather taken aback when we heard about the latest TOWIE drama involving Junaid Ahmed. Sure, he has clashed with the likes of Amber Turner, Courtney Green, Chloe Meadows and Harry Derbidge since joining the cast two years ago, but we never thought we’d see the day where he butted heads with his bestie Dani Imbert.
But it seems that the unthinkable has happened as Dani recently unfollowed Junaid on Instagram following a row over his boyfriend Joe Blackman.
Dani revealed earlier this week that she felt ‘let down’ by Junaid after he failed to ‘have [her] back’ when Joe made a number of ‘nasty’ social media posts about her.
‘It has led to us falling out. Joe put stuff up on social media about me,’ she told The Sun.
Dani added, ‘I know he said he pulled Joe up on it, but it wasn't really enough. I feel really let down by him.
‘Considering when Joe screwed him over I was there to pick up the pieces and when Joe has been nasty to me, he has not had my back.’
Last week, Junaid popped by Closer HQ with Freddie Bentley for a catch-up ahead of the TOWIE Christmas special and we took the opportunity to get his side of the story.
‘We have been best friends for a very long time and it’s never nice to see anyone fall out with their best friend, especially with the situation and the fact that the whole nation gets to see it as well,’ he told us.
‘I have nothing but love and respect for Dani and I wish her all the best. You’ll see it all pan out in the Christmas special where we both stand with one another.’
According to reports, one of the main plotlines for the upcoming festive episode is, of course, what the hell went down between Junaid and Joe that forced Junaid to record himself crying on the phone to his as he called (former) BFF Dani.
A source told The Sun, 'The pair have fallen out after Joe did some mudslinging on social media and started calling Dani all kinds of mean names.'
Well that's not very nice behaviour now, is it, Joe?
They continued, 'The post was deleted but not before cast members saw it.'
Rookie error from the TOWIE newbie as we all know that in this day and age in the world of social media nothing is easily lost or forgotten.
Last series, Dani was one of the few people who had Junaid's back after his fallout with Harry; in classic Dani style, she offered Junaid a shoulder to cry on, as well as some brutal honesty for some questionable behaviour.
