If you own any kind of screen - and we assume you do because, well, hiya - you’ll know that ITV is being pretty good to us this month. Not only is Celebrity Big Brother our new Roman Empire (those face-to-face kissing booth nominations, though), but both The Real Housewives of Cheshire and TOWIE return to our screens at the end of the month. Feeling blessed, as the kids say.
And if you’re watching CBB you’ll know that RHOCheshire icon Lauren Simon became the second housemate to be evicted from the house after a somewhat tumultuous ride with some of her housemates.
While it’s safe to say that Lauren rubbed a few of her housemates up the wrong way during her week and a bit in the CBB house, one celebrity she did gel with was Love Island 2022 winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.
The second we saw these two reality telly queens starting to bond, we couldn’t help but wonder, after Love Island, Dancing on Ice and The Traitors US, could The Real Housewives of Cheshire be on the cards for this glamorous chum of our Lauren’s?
Well, according to Lauren, yes - what with Ekin-Su’s younger brother living in Manchester and all. A cheeky weekend up north to see the bro and a stop-off in Cheshire to film some guest Housewife scenes? Utterly within the realms of possibility.
Lauren said, "Yeah, I've invited her to Cheshire. Her brother lives in Manchester. We’re going to get her on The Real Housewives.
"I left her my shampoo, my hairbrush, my makeup remover; she's like my sister. I love her. I think the public when I came out were not seeing what I saw. But you have to remember, it's called Big Brother, it is a game and people are playing a game to win. That's what you do. But for me, she wasn't anything but gorgeous – beautiful inside and out."
We know we’re drama queens here at Closer online, but this crossover might actually break us if it happens. And that’s fine, by the way, ITV, break us.
Sadly, we don't think Ekin-Su will be appearing on the upcoming series 17 as the girls are currently wrapping holiday scenes up in Spain, but we want you all to know, we're manifesting this guest appointment for series 18. We also wouldn't mind seeing Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne being invited to a chaotic Cheshire dinner party while we're at it (although we're not sure how Lauren's daughter, Gigi, would feel about this).
While this is far from an official announcement, it’s certainly a sign of potentially good things to come from this unlikely celeb duo. Let’s just hope more comes of it that Seema Malhotra and Paige Thorne’s professional relationship because, well, let’s just say that Love Island x RHOCheshire crossover never happened and now never will.
Eek.
