The current series of Love Island has been unexpectedly top tier.

We all had a doubts after the lukewarm winter version from this year but with the help of Tyrique Hyde's meddling and the pure existence of Whitney Adebayo, the 2023 summer series has been giving.

One Love Island 2023 couple who found themselves caught up in the drama that made for hella good telly was Leah Taylor and Montel McKenzie.

After the dreaded Casa Amor week, they both decided to stay single and not couple up with any of the bombshells who were sent in to cause chaos.

On the outside it's all very "Awww they stayed loyal", but in reality Montel had been off smooching Casa babe Tink Reading on the terrace and literally everybody was convinced Montel would pick Tink to couple up with.

Awks.

But not to worry, the duo powered through and although they were dumped from the villa shortly after they made amends, Leah and Montel popped by Closer to chat about life inside and outside of Love Island.

When asked who was the hardest to live with, Leah and Montel offered up different Islanders for very different reasons.

"Sammy [Root]" Leah replied without hesitation.

Sammy failed Food Tech GSCE

Our immediate reaction was that perhaps it is down to his inability to cook, remember when him and Whitney were left unattended in the kitchen? It was all very Food Tech high school with the good girl trying to each the naughty boy how to cook a Victoria sponge.

A popular reason for Islanders being less than lovely to live with comes down to them being messy or uncouth but, in our much sought after opinion, Sammy gives off clean boy energy.

We imagine Sammy having that just-out-of-the-shower scent about him 24/7 and have you seen those curls? Those are the type of curls that require dedication and lots of self-care.

But it turns out that it wasn't Sammy's hygiene or his lack of culinary experience that makes him such an undesirable villa mate.

"Sammy because he speaks in his sleep," Leah explained.

Ah, that'll do it.

"He shouts," she added.

It's giving possessed vibes.

"I'd have to say Ty," Montel countered, "just because he's so annoying. I love him but he's so annoying."

Ah nothing like you're best mate calling you annoying, is there? That truly is friendship.
