You never know what moment in Love Island will be the most memorable. Who knew back in Love Island 2019 that Curtis Pritchard’s now iconic “I want to be person that gets up and makes everyone a coffee so everyone’s ready for the morning” would be the one to go viral? Or that Tyrique Hyde stroppily putting on his sunnies in Love Island 2023 would be a meme we still use today?
For Love Island 2024, there was one thing we all couldn’t stop talking about, and it was Ronnie Vint’s hair. So, when Samantha Kenny exposed Ronnie’s bizarre Dracula-like sleeping stance, obviously, we assumed it was to protect his precious hair follicles.
However, thanks to Love Island 2017’s Olivia Attwood, we have yet another chapter to add to this vampiric habit and it turns out that it has nothing to do with hair. Can we take a moment to appreciate that all these years later she's still our number one source for Love Island tea, what a legacy.
Olivia addressed it on the latest episode of her So Wrong It’s Right podcast where she had both Ronnie and her husband Bradley Dack as guests.
Having been pals with Ronnie for years, our trusted source Olivia was quick to confirm that he does in fact always sleep sitting up. “He’s slept at my house… and he sleeps sitting up, it’s like Dracula.”
Ronnie then revealed, “Apparently it’s really good for your face” to which Olivia replied, “I try myself to be as upright as I can at all times.” Is this the beauty trick we never knew we needed?
Ronnie said, “In the villa everyone was like, ‘why are you waking up staring at me?’... But yeah, that’s why I’ve done it. For the last two or three years I’ve done it. The first night [in the villa] I got in the bed with Jess [White] and I was like, ‘This is going to be a bit weird.’”
Bless her, she probably didn’t get a single pillow that night.
“She was cracking up, and everyone was cracking up, everyone thought it was a mad thing as well with my hair. They think I’m a vampire and I’m not, I promise.”
That’s great to know Ronnie, but we’re not taking the story down.
