It’s no secret that we’re obsessed with all things Love Island and TOWIE here at Closer HQ and there has actually been some crossover between the two reality shows over the years.
Islanders like Olivia Attwood, Elma Pazar and even Love Island 2016 winners Cara De La Hoyde and husband Nathan Massey have all gone on to appear on TOWIE after finding fame on the ITV2 dating show.
But the OG Love Islander-turned-TOWIE cast member is Jon Clark. The Love Island 2015 star joined the cast of the Brentwood-based reality show after splitting from villa girlfriend Hannah Elizabeth (who's now on All Stars) and featured in six series.

Jon was one of the first Islanders to enter the Love Island villa on the 2015 series. He coupled up with fellow OG Hannah Elizabeth and they made it all the way to the final, although it wasn’t all plain sailing.
The pair became known for their fiery rows, but that didn’t stop them from finishing the show in second place behind winners Max Morley and Jess Hayes. Jon and Hannah even got engaged on the show when he popped the question after phoning her dad to ask for his blessing.
Why did Jon Clark and Hannah Elizabeth split?
Despite becoming the first – and so far, only – couple to ever get engaged on Love Island, Jon and Hannah split a few months after leaving the villa. Their rollercoaster relationship continued to be turbulent in the outside world and they called it quits after a series of rows.
Jon told OK!, “We had arguments, there are things that happened between us, on both sides, not just mine. The arguing was getting too much for me and we just weren't working anymore."
“Couples say things to each other when they're angry - she said horrible things to me, I said horrible things to her, but at the end of the day, it wasn't working.”

Before she headed into the Love Island villa, Hannah revealed that she and Jon are on good terms nine years on from their split. She said, “The last time I saw Jon was the reunion [on Love Island: What Happened Next in 2020] where we all got together and it was absolutely fine.”

With producers chucking the Islanders’ exes into the Love Island villa left, right and centre, fans have been wondering if Jon will pop up as a bombshell. It does seem unlikely as he appears to have quit reality TV and retired from the public eye in recent years, but anything is possible when it comes to Love Island.

She recently said, “We don’t chat but if he came into the villa for the lols, I would be absolutely sound with him unless he wants to kick off. We’ll see, but it’s alright on my end.”
When was Jon Clark on TOWIE?
Jon joined the cast of TOWIE in 2016 and appeared on the show for six series before leaving the show in 2018. The reality star's younger brother, Chris, starred alongside him. Jon's storylines included a short-lived romance with Chloe Sims and a feud with Kate Ferdinand.
In September 2018, Jon was suspended from TOWIE after allegedly slapping co-star James 'Diags' Bennewith on a night out in Newcastle.
