TOWIE star Amber Turner has clapped back after coming under fire for posting a TikTok video of her shopping haul following a trip to Waitrose.

The reality star and social media influencer was criticised for sharing a video showing the food she bought from the supermarket, which included chicken breasts, carrots and low salt soy sauce (as she finds the regular one is “too salty”).

In the clip, Amber says, “Right, I don’t know about you guys, but I just think Waitrose is the most elite supermarket there is. There’s stuff you can get in Waitrose I just feel like you can’t find anywhere else.”

Some of Amber’s followers were less than impressed with the TikTok, with some claiming that the post was “tone deaf” given the current cost of living crisis.

One commented, “Everyone struggling and she’s hyping Waitrose,” while another remarked, “People who shop at Waitrose like people to know they shop at Waitrose.”

However, Amber didn’t take the comments lying down and was quick to hit back. “Jesus Christ, I’m literally buying chicken, carrots, some soy sauce and snacks. I’m hardly buying caviar and champagne so let’s just chill out,” she replied to one commenter.

Amber also responded to the furore in a separate video, telling her followers, “Why are people so bloody aggy? Why are people so bothered about my food shop in Waitrose?”

“I’m sorry but the point I was making was, whenever I go into Waitrose, no matter what one you go into, you get good stuff in there. Whereas, speaking from experience, when I go into Tesco, Sainsbury’s, you don’t always get good stuff and that was the point I was making.”

She added, “For people to be reacting like that, calling me tone deaf and being quite mean, it’s a little bit extreme. Do you know what I mean?”

Amber’s posts come after she appeared to throw shade at her on-screen enemies Junaid Ahmed, Ella Rae Wise and Dani Imbert while sharing pictures from a recent house party.

Sharing a picture of herself and her bezzies, including Courtney Green, Chloe Meadows and Elma Pazar, Amber wrote, “With all my faves @danedgar @elmapazar @chloebrockett @chloejmeadows @courtneymegz @diags_, @lockie."

Shade by omission. Ouch.
