It’s the TOWIE love story that keeps on giving. When it was announced that Ella Rae Wise had split from Dan Edgar just days before entering the Celebrity Big Brother house, we didn’t know how to feel.
Now, seeing Ella bare her soul on CBB and process her breakup in real time is proving to be a tough watch, and not just for fans of TOWIE.
Saffron Lempriere sat down with Closer to discuss Ella's stint and why her co-star is having a difficult time in the CBB house so far.
'Ella is very close to her mum, and she's an only child, so I think maybe this is a real tough experience for her,' she exclusively told us.
'Big Brother is never going to be easy, but Ella isn't the most sort of sociable person. Maybe she has felt a bit out of her depth because she hasn't been able to relate to many in the house, I think she just is a bit overwhelmed.’
And as for Dan and Ella’s breakup, Saffron admitted that their split was a shock to everyone — including the man himself.
'He was really supportive [when he heard Ella was going on CBB], obviously, in the lead up to it.
'Dan probably knew before many people, because it was a secret, and Ella had supported him massively in Dancing on Ice, so he probably was going to do the same, and then, sadly, they've had this breakup.’
However this isn't their first rodeo and Saffron reckons there could be a reconciliation on the cards for Dan and Ella, and if she hasn’t given up hope, then neither have we.
'Dan wishes everyone well, he's quite an easy-going person. There's a lot of press around “Dan's annoyed, and he'll never look back, and he'll have nothing to do with her,” but I still think there could be romance on the cards for them,' she continued.
'She's she said a few things about how they're at different places in their lives, and she wants more from someone, but sometimes when you're left alone with your own thoughts, maybe she's thought things through more and thought actually what's important is at home.
'As she said last night on the show, she's reflecting, and she's missing friends and family, but I don't doubt that she's missing Dan, because she did love him.'
