Does anything scream Christmas more than our fav celebs partaking in a whole batch of reality TV contests? From Strictly Come Dancing to I’m A Celebrity, Dancing On Ice is one of our fave winter shows to curl up and watch with a cuppa.
And the show has already confirmed which famous faces will be taking part in the upcoming show. With everyone from TOWIE to Love Island, it’s bound to be a good one.
As the countdown starts, here’s everything we know about Dancing On Ice 2025 – including the confirmed cast, hosts and start dates.
Who is the cast of Dancing on Ice 2025?
Dan Edgar
TOWIE fans, we're about to see a whole new side of Dan Edgar as he takes to the ice. While his many, many relationship dramas usually keep us hooked, this time it’ll be his on-ice skills we can’t get enough of.
Talking about joining the show, he said on Heart radio, ‘I’m looking forward to it, but the thought of the live shows and performing is very real. I like to think I can ice skate a little bit, but I’m a terrible dancer, so that bit is going to need some work.’
Ferne McCann
Now she’s quit her ITVBe reality show, she’s got plenty of time on her hands for skating. Former TOWIE star Ferne McCann has revealed that she’s hoping to take the trophy home for daughters Sunday and Finty. She shared on Good Morning Britain, ‘I’m so excited. It’s going to be a huge challenge, but I’m excited for the glitz and glamour of the show.’
Chris Taylor
He's been on Love Island All Stars and Celebs Go Dating this year but we're about to see a lot more of Chris Taylor as he's taking part in Dancing on Ice. He said on the radio, 'I'm somewhere between absolutely terrified and very excited and I keep flitting between the two quite aggressively throughout the day. I've not even started stretching yet, I need to.'
Mollie Pearce
Most recognised from her stint on season two of The Traitors - where she lose out to traitor Harry Clark - Mollie Pearce, 22, is ready to take to the ice. 'It will be fun. I want to challenge myself, I'm ready for the challenge,' said Mollie - who was born without digits on her right hand, and has a stoma bag.
Luckily for Mollie, she's not a total newbie to the world of skating. 'My mum used to take me skating a lot when I was young,' she revealed on Lorraine.
Sir Steve Redgrave
After retiring from his sport 24 years ago, five-time Olympic rowing champion Sir Steve Redgrave will be this year's oldest contestant at the age of 62. He shared on This Morning, 'It's like going back to being an athlete again. I've been competing most my life.'
And while some might think naturally sporty Steve could be at an advantage, being an athlete won't help him on the ice. '[Rowing] ends up being people who are not very co-ordinated because it's a repetitive sport, doing the same movement over and over again,' Steve said, adding, 'I can't dance, I can't skate... Why am I doing this show? I've got no idea at all.'
Sam Aston
Burnley-born Sam Aston is best known for playing Chesney Brown on ITV soap Coronation Street – a role he’s held since 2003, when he joined at just 10 years old. Talking about joining Dancing on Ice, the actor said on This Morning, 'I'm nervous, but excited to get going. It's going to be nice for the public to see me for me, rather than Chesney.'
Charlie Brooks
EastEnders legend Charlie Brooks has been announced as one of the celebs taking to the ice rink this year. It’ll be a second shot at reality TV stardom for Charlie – who is best known for playing the role of Janine Butcher – since being crowned Queen of the Jungle on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here 12 years ago. She said on Loose Women, ‘I’m going to embrace the spray tan. All I want to do is enjoy it and try not to break my leg.’
Josh Jones
Comedian Josh Jones admits that he's got 'no skating experience whatsoever,' laughing on Gaydio, 'I did it once for a date years ago, and I wasn't very good. I was holding onto the railings the entire time, and we aren’t together now. My dancing isn’t great either. For a gay man, I have no rhythm. I struggle to clap along to a beat, so this will be fun.’
Anton Ferdinand
It’s not that Ferdinand... but it is his brother! Anton is best known for being a football-player-turned-pundit, as well as the younger brother of Rio Ferdinand. He shared on talkSPORT radio, ‘I decided to sign up for the show because it’s a challenge first and foremost. I’m in a new phase of life since retiring from football and one of the things I’ve missed about playing is the structure it gives you.'
'Dancing On Ice will give me that focus,' he added, 'but I’m also doing it for my daughter, because she loves dance and performing arts. My son always had my football to shout about, so this will give my daughter and me something to share.’ Let’s see whether we spot Rio and Kate in the audience.
Chelsee Healey
Best known for playing Janeece Bryant in BBC school-based drama Waterloo Road, Chelsee Healey, 36, has been confirmed for this year’s Dancing on Ice. It won’t be her first shot at dancing, given the star competed in 2011’s Strictly Come Dancing with Pasha Kovalev, finishing the series as runner-up.
Opening up about joining the show, she said on the radio, ‘I’m ready, I’m good to go, let’s go! I’ve got a bit of rhythm, but skating on ice is completely different. I’m excited for the live shows. Getting to perform live every week will give me a buzz.'
Michaela Strachan
Wildlife presenter Michaela Strachan will be taking to the ice, best known for being co-host of beloved shows including Springwatch and Winterwatch.
Opening up about taking to the ice, she shared on Lorraine, ‘It's going to be a big challenge. The last time I was on the ice was four years ago when I took the kids. I’m not one of those people who holds onto the sides, I guess. Because I was trained as a dancer, I’ve got a bit of balance.'
Dame Sarah Storey
Paralympic grand champion Dame Sarah Storey will also be on Dancing on Ice 2025. Speaking about her upcoming stint, she told Lorraine, 'I'm excited to learn a new skill and have the opportunity to put myself out there and learn a new sport.'
Who will be hosting Dancing on Ice?
While it's not been confirmed, it's thought that Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern will return to hosting the show.
When does Dancing on Ice 2025 start?
Since 2021, Dancing on Ice has started on the second Sunday of the year so we reckon it'll be on our screens on Sunday 12 January 2025.
