It's safe to say that TOWIE star Ella Rae Wise's Celebrity Big Brother journey isn't going the way anyone could've anticipated.
We were one of the first publications to ship Ella and Love Island's Chris Hughes as a potential BB love story (💅) days before the lineup was officially announced and Ella confirmed her conveniently-timed split from TOWIE boyfriend, Dan Edgar.
While plenty of reality TV obsessives foresaw a blossoming romance between Ella and Chris inside Big Brother's walls, Ella has ended up clashing with Chris over his close friendship with pop sensation, JoJo Siwa, going as far as to question whether he is being 'real', suggesting he is clinging to JoJo for his own clout. OOFT. As such, the TOWIE star has been left on the outskirts of the major Big Brother storylines thus far.
Unsurprisingly, the TOWIE star 'fuming' with Ella over all the CBB x Chris Hughes drama is her ex Dan (who she was with off and on for 18 months, following his split from Amber Turner), who according to reports, has said that 'she's made her bed, now she needs to lie in it' and, as such, insists he will never take her back on or off camera.
A source has told The Sun, 'Dan is absolutely fuming about how he was played by Ella.
'He feels used that she dumped him straight before going on Celebrity Big Brother in hopes of a showmance.'
They added, 'Even though it's backfired on her, it doesn't make things easier. Ella embarrassed him in a bid to gain popularity and more followers.
'The cast have heard there's been talk about [TOWIE] producers asking Dan to get back with Ella on-screen when she gets out of the house, but he's not having it. She's made her bed, now she needs to lie in it.'
Just a day before she entered the CBB house, Ella reportedly riled up Dan by revealing, 'We can't just be together because we have a great sex life.'
Upon entering the house, it didn't take long for Ella to open up about her latest split from Dan, telling her housemates, 'I just feel like an idiot because I knew he wasn't going be what I wanted him to be.
'I don't want to waste years trying to change someone.'
Speaking about her reasons for breaking up with Dan prior to entering the house, Ella previously told The Sun, ‘It has nothing to do with Big Brother. It was a decision that I had to make because I didn't feel that we were getting things that we wanted out of each other.
‘We can be best friends, but if something's missing, what are we wasting our time for?'
She continued, ‘I just feel that he's very set in his ways and I can't change someone and I can't expect someone to change either.
‘And if he's comfortable in how he is and if he thinks what he gives in a relationship is enough, that's okay because that can be enough for someone. But it's just not enough for me.’
