Come on now, it wouldn't be Christmas without a little drama on the side, would it? And it certainly wouldn't be a TOWIE Christmas special without a little drama, especially when you take into account the fact that we haven't been gifted one of these specials for three chuffin' years.

What a bleak, cold time it's been.

It's alright, ITV, you did the right thing in the end - like every villain at the end of a festive film.

While Junaid Ahmed has already teased 'chaos' and 'walkouts' in a behind-the-scenes look at the Christmas special on his Instagram (the kind of drama we're here for), series matriarch Amy Childs has left us all a little concerned after revealing that she's come down with a rather nasty case of conjunctivitis halfway through filming (not the kind of drama we're here for).

And we say 'rather nasty case' as after posting some glam behind-the-scenes snaps with her cousin Harry Derbidge and fiancé Billy Delbosq earlier this week, yesterday, the reality star revealed a close-up of her swollen eye, reaching out to her followers for advice after declaring she 'can't get a doctors' appointment'.

While we don't know for certain whether Amy has been forced to pull out of filming as a result, that does look rather painful and we are 90 per cent certain that conjunctivitis is contagious... not ideal if you're getting up in people's faces for festive on-camera rows.

And given how Amy feels about Junaid and Joe Blackman right now, we know she wants to.

And just in case you're opening a new tab to Google 'conjunctivitis', we've saved you the trouble and got the official definition from the NHS...

According to the NHS, conjunctivitis, also known as red or pink eye is 'an eye condition caused by infection or allergies. It usually gets better in a couple of weeks without treatment' and while it can be contagious, 'you do not need to stay away from work unless you are feeling very unwell', so fingers crossed it doesn't mean Amy has had to drop out of filming.

Health is wealth and we're sending nothing but healing vibes to our TOWIE queen.

The last time we saw Amy on camera she was giving ACTING in that ridiculous (in a kind of fabulous way) Christmas special teaser following the finale of series 34. We all watched on in anticipation as Amy – armed with two Proseccos – sat Harry down to reveal that Junaid and Joe had apparently split.

Which left us utterly perplexed as Junaid and Joe are still all over each other's Instagram.
