Emmerdale boss Iain MacLeod has reassured Robron fans that their favourite ship isn't over
Good news for all Robron shippers, Emmerdale boss Iain MacLeod has spoken out about the popular couple - insisting they will go the distance and get through Robert Sugden cheating on partner Aaron Dingle with Rebecca White. Fans were distraught when a drunken Robert made a move on Rebecca, while Aaron was struggling in prison. To top it off, the pair had married the day before Aaron was sent down. Not exactly a fortnight in the Maldives.
Iain told Metro that even though the path of true love isn't the smoothest, the couple won't be splitting any time soon. He said: "There will be more bumps, thrills and spills along the way but yeah, my view is that they individually and collectively meant the vows that they said in that wedding episode.
"But it’s never going to be a straight road with those guys; it’s going to be bumpy and tricky but ultimately they will definitely make it out the other side."
Phew. Fans reacted pretty badly to Robert getting jiggy with his ex, Rebecca, last month. In fact, the Emmerdale Twitter account had to step in and reassure them that everything was going to be ok.
