EastEnders fans found out this summer that the beloved Pam and Les Coker are leaving the show.

The couple have had huge storylines. Last year Pam discovered her husband wasn't having an affair but instead he cross-dressed into his alter-ego Christine. And this year the Coker's lives were rocked when their grandson Paul was killed after a homophobic attack. Viewers saw the heart-breaking scene where Shirley Carter had to break the devastating news to Pam in the market.

EastEnders viewers are unaware of how Pam and Les will exit the show but in upcoming scenes it was revealed that Pam may jeopardise the trial of Paul's killers.

In scenes to air soon Pam visits the mum of one of Paul's killers – Diane – against Les and Ben's wishes. Lin Blakley (who plays Pam) told the Radio Times: "Pam wants to see what sort of woman she must be to have brought up a son like that.

"It's a horrible thing to have such homophobia in this day and age.

"And Pam wants to be able to turn around and say to Kathy, ''See? I told you she'd be a nasty woman.' But Pam might just be in for a shock."

And now Lin has teased about her character's exit. Speaking on Lorraine she revealed that although the scenes are emotional, "every fan out there will like the way it's been done. It's lovely."

The actress also revealed that she's fine with leaving the BBC show: "I came in on a three-month contract and stayed two and a half years, so I was lucky.

"To get something like this - I couldn't believe it! So hopefully this will spring me on to doing other things."

Earlier this year a spokesperson for EastEnders confirmed the news: "We can confirm that Roger and Lin will be leaving EastEnders later this year.

"They have been a pleasure to work with and we wish them all the best for the future."

We'll be sad to see the Coker's go.
