Former EastEnders actor Jonny Labey, who announced that he was leaving the BBC1 soap earlier this year – paid tribute to his character Paul Coker with this simple but beautiful tweet.

As the rest of the cast raised their glasses to Paul in the Queen Vic, after he lost his life in a vicious attack, he tweeted:

He also praised his co-stars’ utterly breathtaking performances.

We’ll miss him so much!

Harry Reid, who plays Ben, also posted this snap on Instagram with the caption:

“Everyone's support has been amazing over the last few days. Thank you everyone for watching, I hope it hasn't upset your evenings too much! Tune into @itv This Morning to hear my first comments since the storyline...love as always xx”

After an altercation with Pam in the Queen Vic, we saw Ben Mitchell blame himself for his boyfriend’s death. He admitted to Johnny Carter that the couple were victims to a homophobic attack, despite previously stating that it was ‘just a mugging.’

Ben revealed that the attack could have been prevented if he didn’t decide to start an argument with the gang that took Paul’s life.

He said: "When we left the club we were taking selfies, laughing about something stupid.

"There were these four blokes shouting at us - come on then you f-----s."

Ben then broke down, saying that Paul wanted him to "leave it", but he couldn't.

"Paul's dead because of me," he said.
