WARNING: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

EastEnders fans have seen so much going on lately and we have been plagued by rumours about cast members that could be leaving the show for good. We know that Kellie Bright will be temporarily leaving the square (actress Linda Carter will be on maternity leave), but how will the storyline unfold? We have also been forced to question whether the wonderful Dot Branning will be sticking around too

And now, viewers of the show have voiced concerns over the fate of Walford favourite, Phil Mitchell.

Phil, who is played by Steve McFadden, may be heading for an exit – according to fans – after being diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. In order to live, Phil must get a successful liver transplant.

Soap lovers will know that the square’s notorious love rat and bad boy has started drinking again and even collapsed as a result of not looking after himself properly.

But is that enough to kill him off? He’s been through quite a lot during his time on the square, and even Steve hopes that his character is tough enough to get past this stressful ordeal.

Talking to the Birmingham Mail, Steve said: “I want Phil to live.

“He’s survived worse – he’s been shot, stabbed, battered, car crashes and burning stuff down. Hopefully he will get through this one as well.”

If the EastEnders bosses do decide that Phil’s time must come to an end, after 26 years on the show, it’ll be following on the heels of Ronnie and Roxie Mitchell. The onscreen sisters, played by Samantha Womack and Rita Simons, both confirmed that they will be saying goodbye to E20 soon.

People have begun to suspect that Ronnie and Roxie will leave in dramatic scenes over Christmas and New Year, and although we are very sad to see them go we can’t wait to see what epic storylines the producers have up their sleeves.
