If you didn't spend every weekday night catching up with the Justin and Becca’s affair, Max and Clare's doomed relationship, and everything that absolute beast Warren Fox did, then you were frankly doing the noughties wrong.
Hollyoaks in the 2000s brought us all sorts of soap classics we still think about to this day, so we thought we'd take a trip down memory lane and remember all the wildest things that happened in Chester during the last decade.
The craziest Hollyoaks storylines of the noughties
noughties hollyoaks craziest moments (Closer)
Kathy Barnes' affair with daughter Sarah's boyfriend Rhys
It's a truth universally acknowledged that Kathy Barnes was the worst mother to ever exist. When she wasn't stealing her daughter's babies and abandoning all her kids, she was sleeping with Rhys Ashworth. Who was going out with her oldest daughter Sarah. Bad parenting!
Amy Barnes gives birth on the floor after school
Speaking of the Barnes', we've never quite got over that dramatic episode in which 15-year-old Amy Barnes went into labour in her school uniform in the family kitchen - after keeping her pregnancy a secret from her family. Yikes.
Rhys and Beth's incest storyline
After almost running her over with his car (romantic) Rhys embarked on a relationship with Beth, who it then emerged was his HALF SISTER. They carried on regardless, before Gilly found out and blew the whistle.
The fire at The Dog
We don't mean to be dramatic, but the fire at The Dog in the Pond may just be the most dramatic piece of telly we've ever seen. It saw the deaths of Sam Owen (who started it), Mel and Sophie Burton, Joe Spencer and Olivia Johnson.
Justin and Becca's affair
Becca having an affair with her 16-year-old student Justin, which in a very roundabout way eventually led to her death is one of the standout moments in the soap's history.
Everything Warren Fox did
We would list all the things that absolute beast Warren did, but there simply are not enough hours in the day.
Sarah Barnes' parachute fails
This technically happened on Hollyoaks Later (it being far too grim for pre-watershed), but it truly is up there with the craziest things we've ever seen on a soap.
Max Cunningham's death :(
After an extremely ill-fated romance from evil Clare Devine, Max ended up getting hit by a car on their wedding day. We still haven't got over it.
Clare Devine returns from the dead
Speaking of Clare Devine, her return from in 2009 has surely got to be one of the most dramatic back-from-the-dead storylines of all time.
Louise Summers getting killed on her wedding day
The perpetrator was, of course, Warren Fox, who she had married. Classic Warren.
Sasha Valentine becomes a heroin addict
After getting in with a bad crowd, Sasha Valentine started experimenting with drugs, culminating in her developing a heroin addiction.
In other Hollyoaks news, it was recently announced that Stephanie Davis would reprise her role as the much-loved Sinead O'Connor later this autumn.
After a difficult year, Steph, who was reportedly sacked from the show in 2015 for turning up to work drunk, proved all the haters wrong and turned her life around after a stint in rehab for alcoholism last year.
But shortly after it was announced that she would return to the show, reports surfaced that the cast weren’t thrilled because of the ‘chaos’ she caused when she worked there.

Speaking to our friends at heat magazine about her return, Jamie Lomas (of Warren Fox fame) said: “I always liked Steph. I always got on with her and I think she’s a good girl.
“Everybody in life goes through troubles and whatever. It’s about coming through and she’s done that.”
And speaking about how he thinks the cast will react, he continued: “Hollyoaks is such an amazing cast that they’ll welcome her with open arms I’m sure… everyone’s got a past and it’s time to move on now. Everyone deserves a second chance.”
