If there’s one thing we love to see on Love Island, it’s when the girls stand up for themselves and take no BS from the boys.

Remember the classic year that was Love Island 2019? When the likes of Amber Gill, Maura Higgins, Anna Vakili and Yewande Biala all became iconic reality TV queens by calling out their partners’ bad behaviour.

Yewande’s showdown with Danny Williams where she told him, “What goes around comes around... have a nice life,” still lives rent free in our heads. But what has the scientist-turned-reality star been up to in the four years since she uttered those immortal words? Allow us to fill you in…

When was Yewande Biala on Love Island?

Yewande was one of the first contestants to enter the Love Island villa in the summer of 2019. She immediately coupled up with Michael Griffiths and stayed in a friendship couple with him until bombshell Danny Williams entered the villa and turned her head.

Sadly, things all went wrong when another bombshell, Arabella Chi, joined the show and took a liking to Danny. After a bit of a love triangle, Danny eventually chose to couple with Arabella - which meant that Yewande was dumped from the villa.

Hang on, is Yewande Biala dating Joe Garratt?

Yewande and Joe Garratt, who appeared on the same series of Love Island, have remained close friends since meeting on the show, with fans even speculating that they could be dating.

However, Yewande and Joe and have never confirmed their friendship has turned romantic so it's safe to say that they're just besties.

Did Yewande Biala date George Rains?

Yewande sparked rumours she was dating Casa Amor bombshell George Rains when he was pictured on a night out with her make-up all over his face shortly after they left the villa. However, it later came to light that George was actually seeing someone else.

Opening up about her time with George in a YouTube video posted in 2020, Yewande explained, "We were seeing each other, yes, but it wasn't serious.

"It was just casual and then it didn't work out. Oh no, he actually had a girlfriend so that was that."

What is Yewande Biala’s job?

Yewande worked as a scientist before appearing on Love Island and although she revealed plans to go back to her day job after the show, she's instead forged a career as an influencer, author and presenter. Last year, she released her debut book, Reclaiming, and she also presented a documentary on the female orgasm for Channel 4 earlier this year.

Is Yewande Biala still friends with Amber Gill and Anna Vakili?

Although she didn't find love in the villa, Yewande formed a close friendship with fellow Islanders Amber and Anna. Their friendship continued on the outside world and the three besties even hosted a podcast together, however they haven't been seen together in a while which has left fans wondering they've fallen out.

Yewande, Amber and Anna all still follow each other on social media, so they're definitely still on good terms. Phew, we don't think we could handle it if they weren't friends anymore.

What happened between Yewande Biala and Lucie Donlan?

Back in 2021, Lucie Donlan claimed that Yewande had "bullied" her during their time in the villa together, but the Irish Islander quickly hit back and claimed it was actually Lucie who had been "disrespectful" by refusing to pronounce her name correctly.

"You refused to call me by my name because it was too 'hard to pronounce' now you wanna say I bullied you!! Bullied," Yewande wrote on social media at the time. Yewande's bestie Amber also backed up her claims when she replied, "Na when she said can I call you 'Y' I said lol no you can’t can I just call you 'her' you were peaceful in that exchange It was me with the vim."

Lucie insisted that she hadn't meant any harm at the time as she explained, "It's just what I'm like."

Yewande went on to say that her name is her identity and when Lucie said it wrong, "All I heard was that I didn't matter."
