Love Island producers like to switch things up every so often and, to be frank, sometimes it works like a dream and other times it falls flat.
For Love Island 2023, they added The Grafties just before the final and it was the perfect way to create even more friction in an already chaotic villa. Who could forget 'messy' Mitch Taylor being called a "kn*bhead" by Scott van-der-Sluis? Iconic.
We also had the always intense Casa Amor week and clearly our prayers were answered as the baby challenge was finally ditched. But it turns out the Islanders are not always up for the change of pace as Tyrique Hyde has revealed an aspect from this year's series he did not enjoy.
The finalist was recently a guest on the Fancy a Chat? podcast where he opened up about his time on the dating show.
Of course, the podcast is hosted by Ty's bestie and Love Island 2021 alumni Toby Aromolaran, which means the lads chat was coming in thick and fast.
After Ty admitted what he regretted during his Love Island experience, he also revealed how he was feeling on the first episode and the initial coupling.
Toby set the scene for Ty and quizzed him on how he felt about the public being able to pick the first couples rather than the Islanders choosing.
"You're an original, you're walking in. Bang, public vote," Toby described.
"Yeah rattler," Ty responded immediately, "Bro, absolutely rattled. I wanted people to step forward."
What we're hearing is that Ty was hoping to have his pick of the Love Island girlies but we all know he would have chosen Ella Thomas, whatever happened.
"When people step forward for you, people have to show their hands early doors," Ty confessed, "Then you know who is really rating you."
"I was bare nervous walking out," he continued, "Bro, I don't even get nervous but that was the most nervous."
Luckily for Ty, Toby knows exactly how he feels what with having been through a similar scenario two years ago.
"I think everyone in the world gets nervous at that whole situation," Toby agreed.
