‘This is Love Island, not Friendship Island.’ We hear it every series when an Islander is trying to justify pulling their best mate’s boy for a chat. While we do enjoy seeing love bloom—ok, lust bloom— we also get a kick out of seeing Islanders find their besties. After all, Tom Clare may have won Love Island All Stars 2024 with his now-girlfriend Molly Smith, but seeing him reunite with his best pal Casey O’Gorman was one of the highlights of that series.
However, while we know that not everyone leaves the show with a boyfriend or girlfriend, some Islanders walk away from that villa and don’t look back at all, choosing instead to wash their hands of the whole experience.
It turns out this might be the case for Love Island 2021 alum, Liberty Poole. On her series, Liberty met Jake Cornish and after a turbulent relationship, she chose to end things just days before the final. However, that wasn't the last they saw of each other, and much to their horror they were reunited in All Stars 2024.

Aside from Jake, Liberty also met Kaz Kamwi, and the pair struck up a close friendship along with fellow Islanders Sharon Gaffka, Faye Winter and Abi Rawlings. The group even went on holiday to Greece together back in 2023 and were the epitome of sisterhood.
However, when we sat down with Liberty to discuss her opinions on this year’s Islanders, it turns out her relationship with Jake isn’t the only one that’s cooled. She revealed that a year on from her series of All Stars, she isn’t as close with her fellow Islanders as she once was.

She said, ‘I'm not in any group chats from that season, but if I was to see anyone in person, I would be cool with everyone. I haven’t got any bad blood with anyone, but I don't really speak to that many people from the show now in my day to day.
‘I feel like everyone have quite close friendships, but I kind of just do my own thing. I have my girls in the industry that I do speak to regularly, but I don't force anything. I'm just doing my thing. And if I see them, I see them, I’m kind of at that moment in life.’
Well that's sad because isn't she meant to be besties with Kaz?
At least she's got her hot boyfriend who she met after her third villa stint (the second was Love Island Games, fyi).
