We've spent a fair few weeks having one-on-one time with dumped Love Island stars and a few takeways have come through loud and clear. These are: Joey lives in Joey Essex land and Konnor Ewudzi was well and truly scorned by Love Island 2024 producers.
Regarding the latter, the general consensus from the dumped Islanders is that he was a brother to the boys and an absolute gent to all the girls in the villa, but for whatever reason he was frequently significantly ditched from the edit for days on end. A hard no from us – especially now we've had a chance to chat with him.
A true gent through and through.
We took the opportunity to quiz Konnor about Mr Essex while we were pulling him for a chat because like every other human being watching Love Island this summer, we're just dying to know what it's like to live with Joey Essex himself, and whether there's any distinction between TOWIE's Joey Essex and Joey on Love Island – other than a buzzcut and about a decade.
Speaking about Joey, Konnor exclusively confessed to Closer online, "[With] Joey doing a lot of TV prior to going on Love Island I was like, 'Right, what’s Joey going to be like?' But I thought he was sound.
"He’s another sort of person [I thought] knows TV, you know, he’s going to make things happen and maybe cause a bit of drama, but actually being in there, I thought he was a legend."
There you go folks, meet your TOWIE heroes.
Okay, but did he talk about TOWIE a lot in the villa? Because in our minds he's constantly dishing the dirty on his Essex pals, Chloe Sims, Arg and Diags – in between singing (we say, 'singing') 'Reem' endlessly, obv.
So, according to Konnor, yes and no...
He revealed, “[He did] if people asked him questions [about TOWIE], but I don’t think he was just like, 'I’ve done this, I’ve done that.' But if you asked him a question, he’d probably give you about a half an hour answer.”

Lovely Konnor entered the villa alongside Matilda Draper on day 17 and was dumped from the Island on day 44 alongside Lolly Hart at the hands of Nicole Samuel and Ciaran Davies.
Konnor and Lolly were in the bottom three couples after receiving the fewest public votes (voting for most compatible couple) - in the end, Nicole and Ciaran chose to give Konnor and Lolly thew boot. While in the villa, he coupled up with Grace Jackson, Emma Milton ('WHO'S EMMA?')and Lolly.
