If we’re being honest, one of the best things about Love Island: All Stars by far is the awkward moment when show exes come face-to-face once again, usually years after they last saw each other.
Callum Jones and Molly Smith entering the All Stars 2024 villa as the first bombshells and coupling up together just months after they split literally made our jaw drop so hard that we thought we’d lost it forever. Then there’s the reunion of Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish that was so awky porky that he quit the villa altogether.
We’re preparing ourselves for another toe-curling moment next week as this year’s line-up includes Love Island 2017 exes Gabby Allen and Marcel Somverville, who split when he cheated on her while they were on holiday TOGETHER and haven’t seen each other in six years.
Ahead of her return to the villa, Gabby has opened up about what might happen when she sees Marcel again and addressed whether there’s any potential for a reunion after his ‘betrayal’.
‘Obviously, there's the elephant in the room that my ex possibly could be going in, but we haven't seen each other for six years. It's been such a long time. Like there's no hard feelings, like it is what it is,’ she said.
‘I'm basically preparing myself to see if he does come in and then, if he does, I'll have to cross that bridge when we come to it.’
Gabby continued, ‘I would actually just like to have a conversation with him and hopefully put it all behind us and just have some sort of friendship. You know, we did go out with each other for a year, and we know each other very well. We had such an experience with each other last time, so there's no reason why we shouldn't take the positives from it and hopefully be mates of some sort.’
How very grown up.
Speaking about the cheating scandal, she added, ‘It was a big, betrayal of trust, even though I’m over it now, but it was something that was quite a big thing that happened.
‘Would you get back with somebody that did that to you? Honestly, I don't think I would, I don't think I will get back with him. I think there is, as I said, there's room for a friendship there, but I don't know if I could really ever look at somebody the same way after somebody did that to you. It was so quite savage.’
