With Love Island’s All Stars series only a matter of DAYS away, we’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about our favourite Islanders from years gone by.
While fan faves like Georgia Steel, Tom Clare, Faye Winter and Olivia Hawkins are all rumoured to be entering the villa for another shot at love, there’s also loads of iconic past Islanders that we sadly won’t get to see on our screens again as they’ve already found The One and settled down.
One such former contestant is Love Island 2017's Marcel Somerville (y’know, he of Blazin’ Squad fame), who became a father back in 2021 when his wife Rebecca Vieira gave birth to their son, Roman.
As you can probably tell from that last paragraph, a lot has changed for Marcel since he appeared on Love Island alongside then-girlfriend Gabby Allen so let’s take a look at what he’s been up to…

Marcel is a rapper, DJ and reality star, also known as Rocky B. He rose to prominence as part of 10-piece group Blazin' Squad in the early Noughties before finding fame once again when he appeared on Love Island in 2017 eight years after the group went their separate ways.

Marcel was one of the first contestants to enter the villa on series three of Love Island back in 2017. He initially coupled up with Olivia Attwood, before recoupling with Montana Brown in a friendship couple. The rapper-turned-reality star then sparked a connection with bombshell Gabby and they coupled up on day 14, making all the way to the final and finishing in fourth place.
Why did Marcel Somerville and Gabby Allen split?
Marcel and Gabby split in May 2018 amid reports that she dumped him after he cheated on her while they were on holiday together. It was claimed that he kissed another woman in front of other holidaymakers and later slept with her after rowing with Gabby on their trip to Mexico.
At the time, Gabby's reps confirmed the split and she later took to social media to write, "Thank you to everyone for your kind messages, love and support. It's been a tough couple of days, I think I might still be in a bit of shock. But I'm sure, in time, I'll be okay. I have the best family and friends around me. I'm a lucky girl."
Marcel opened up about the split to new! magazine, as he admitted, "I'm upset. I'm sad. Like, I made a mistake and there's nothing I can do.
"I do love her and I do miss her, but there's nothing you can do about it."

Marcel married model and influencer Rebecca Vieira in August 2022, two years after he popped the question. Rebecca began working as a social media influencer in the fashion and beauty world after she was released from prison in 2019 and quickly built up an impressive following. She also appeared alongside Marcel on MTV's Celebrity Bumps, which followed their first pregnancy.
Does Marcel Somerville have children?
Marcel shares a son, Rocky, who is almost three years old, with his wife Rebecca. The couple announced their pregnancy in 2020 and revealed that they had suffered a miscarriage in the early stages of their relationship.
"When you go through something like that, and you both feel so passionately about it, it makes you be there for the other person more. It was hard to go through, but I feel like it made us a lot stronger… no matter what happens in life there will always be something that you can take from it," Marcel previously told OK!
Rebecca confirmed she had given birth in January 2021 when she wrote on Instagram, "Roman Somerville Born 30/01/21 @ 23:37 My Heart!!! Pregnancy is a journey and this past 9 and a bit months have been totally worth it!"
