Love Island 2022 star Summer Botwe is well known for her ongoing feud with fellow bombshell Coco Lodge, but this week, the former bombshell appears to have redirected her shade cannon towards finalist Dami Hope – and thus, indirectly towards his girlfriend (and her friend) Indiyah Polack.
A general rule that all former Casa Amor bombshells would be advised to follow is to respect the Love Island hierarchy (at least when doing interviews); in other words, don't take unnecessary aim at popular Love Island finalists unless you've got a sturdy leg to stand on, and certainly don't take aim at your mate's boyfriend on some gossipy podcast.
It can only lead to #dramz and trouble and here we are - which is annoying because we've always had a soft spot for Summer, who was telly gold on the hit ITV2 series last summer.
It all started when Summer – who had a brief romance with Indiyah's now boyfriend Dami in Casa Amor last summer – was asked about Dami's, erm, package, by the hosts of the Spill The Juice podcast, for some reason. FYI, come speak to Closer next time, Summer; we'd ask you far classier questions.
In short (no pun intended), Summer did what she did best and spilled the tea, revealing that although she didn't do anything with Dami, "she could see things", admitting to seeing his "grower". She revealed, "My eyes were working enough to see that it was a grower."
Summer was famously dumped from the Love Island villa on day 44 wanting nothing to do with Dami after he went back to Indiyah following his dalliance in Casa Amor. However, both Summer and Indiyah made it clear that they were still friends; in fact, the three Islanders were part of a group of 2022 stars who ventured to Dublin last year for PLT's Christmas party.
Unfortunately, these latest personal comments seem to have lit a fire under Indiyah and got her reconsidering her friendship with the bombshell. Shortly after the clip was released online, Indiyah tweeted, "Some people need to stop reminiscing on what they can’t have! Anyways make sure you tune into a real podcast tomorrow morning #LoveIsland the morning after 💕🏝️ with real tea and goss!! 🎊🎊."
You don't need to be an internet sleuth to work out who Indiyah is referring to her and which podcast she is slating. Awks.
In response to the negative reaction Summer went on to block several media outlets, including The Shade Borough (who have been running with the story), on her socials. She also posted a new snap of herself to Instagram with the caption, "Fly girl era, no apologies 🪅."
Perhaps not the smartest move now Indiyah is contracted to record a tea-spilling podcast every morning for the next two months (she and Sam Thompson are the new hosts of Love Island: The Morning After podcast). Your move, Indiyah.
Hopefully these two pals can work it out, because frankly we're obsessed with both of them; at least until we've learned the names of this next batch of Islanders, that is.
Dami is yet to respond to the comments, so until he does, let's remember why these girls are fighting over him in the first place. Short answer: why wouldn't they? He's a hilarious Irish hunk. Enough said.
