Since appearing on Love Island in 2019, Amy Hart’s career has gone from strength-to-strength. She’s become a mum to two-year-old Stanley and tied the knot with partner Sam Rason in a sun-soaked ceremony in Spain.

‘Everything has been amazing, and I feel incredibly lucky,’ she smiles. ‘I still can’t quite believe it. It is busy juggling everything though!’

The nation fell in love with Amy during her stint on Love Island six years ago, when she left part-way through the show after being dumped by partner Curtis Pritchard. But despite viewers sharing her heartbreak at the time, Amy has gone on to find happiness with tech entrepreneur Sam and reveals she is looking forward to expanding their brood.

‘We are trying for a second baby at the moment, so I’ve got all my ovulation sticks and supplements,’ she says. ‘I’m reading a book about fertility and following all the advice. I’m making small lifestyle changes to get baby-ready.’

She adds, ‘We’d love more children. I’ve always said I wanted four, but now I’m thinking maybe two – though Sam reckons we will have more. We recently went to Disney World in Orlando, and noticed most rides are either for two or four. Six park tickets is a lot to pay for, too!’

After seeing her grandmother, mum and auntie all go through early menopause, Amy had a fertility MOT after Love Island and discovered she was likely going the same way. Single and determined to protect her fertility, Amy, who’s 32, froze her eggs at the start of 2021, before meeting Sam a few months later and falling pregnant naturally the following year.

Amy says, ‘Now, the eggs are for the future if we need them. If we couldn’t get pregnant naturally within a certain amount of time then we’d go and see my fertility professor and have some tests done. Then, if we needed IVF, we’d try first with fresh eggs and then use the frozen ones. If I don’t use the frozen ones then I’ve always said I’d donate them, although people have told me not to feel pressure to do that.’

Amy was so popular on the show that she has become the host of the official Love Island podcast and flew to South Africa to interview the Love Island: All Stars finalists this year (including Curtis and his new girlfriend Ekin-Su Cülcüloglu, which both maintained was not awkward all these years on). She has also launched her own podcast, Amy Hart’s Mum’s Club, where she interviews celebrity guests about the ups and downs of parenting.

‘I’m gobby, so I love doing podcasts,’ she jokes. ‘I feel so lucky to still be a part of the Love Island family six years on, and doing All Stars was so much fun. I would love to be a TV presenter one day and I’m learning so much. I don’t prepare questions on Amy Hart’s Mum’s Club – we just sit down and have a lovely chat!’

After leaving Love Island, Amy described herself as ‘chronically single’ until meeting Sam. The pair tied the knot last year.

‘It’s strange saying “husband”, I feel very grown up!’ she laughs. ‘Sometimes I think, “I can’t believe I’ve got a boyfriend, let alone a husband!” We got married in a church, which meant that we had to do a pre-wedding course, it was five hour-and-a-half videos and it was so great. The biggest thing that we took from it is that no matter how busy life is, your marriage is so important and you must make time for it.’

She adds, ‘Sometimes we just go to Pilates together and then sit and have a takeaway in the car and talk for an hour. We love being a family and being parents, but to have couple time and to be able to engage with each other without distractions is important.’

The last time we caught up with Amy was a year ago, when she took part in an exclusive photo shoot with Closer to promote body confidence. She said at the time, ‘My body did amazing things by growing a human. I used to be so focused on how I looked, but now I just want to be as healthy as possible for Stanley.’

‘I can’t believe how big he is now, compared to when we did that shoot!’ she says. ‘He couldn’t even walk then and now he’s talking and running around everywhere, and he loves football and darts.’

While Amy’s refreshing attitude is still the same, she says she has found a love of exercise thanks to a local running club.

Amy adds, ‘My mum has been part of the running club for six years, and in January I finally joined. I did an eight-week Learn To Run course and it’s basically Couch To 5k but with a leader and a coach,’ she explains. ‘I love the community. We all just chat while we’re running. It’s nice for me to go out, see the girls and have some “me” time.’

‘It’s great for getting my body ready for a baby, too, and I can carry on with the running if I get pregnant now that I’ve started. Last time, I cancelled my spin class and just ate and ate for nine months, and it might not be wise to do that again!’
