She’s swapped Love Island bikinis for baby bottles and bouncers, and Amy Hart says she couldn’t be happier in her new role as a mum. The reality star gave birth to son Stanley four months ago and is completely besotted.

“Being a mum is the best thing ever – I’m really, really enjoying it and feel so lucky,” she beams. “Stanley is such a happy little boy, he only really cries if he’s hungry or tired, and I just love the smiles and the cuddles. I’m really lucky though, I do get a lot of help from my mum and our families. My nan is amazing, she’ll drive past and message first, asking if I’ve got any washing she can do.”

Amy, who starred on Love Island in 2019, met partner Sam Rason in 2021 and just a year later fell pregnant. Since giving birth in March, Amy has been documenting new mum life on Instagram and has gained plenty of praise for being honest about her postnatal body, wearing a bikini on holiday just eight weeks after giving birth.

She says, “I put it on on holiday and I was like, ‘Look at me, I’m wearing a bikini – amazing!’ but now Stanley’s a bit older I am getting back into the gym. My body has changed so much since having a baby, my boobs don’t look fake anymore, they look like real boobs! My tummy is quite big and I’ve got an overhang. I could feel my hips moving out when I was pregnant and I can kind of feel them moving back now, they say it takes a year for everything to move back into place.”

After admitting to “being on a diet for 10 years”, Amy, 31, says she is cutting herself some slack now. “I did dancing when I was younger and then I became cabin crew, so I had lots of time when I was away to go to the gym. Then I started doing pageants and then Love Island, so I feel like I’ve basically been on a diet for the last 10 years!” She adds, “I’ve always been really honest about my body, I don’t know whether I’ll get back to where I was before, but I just want to be healthier. I understand that weight doesn’t equal health, but I know that if I didn’t hold myself accountable I would just eat three takeaways a day and end up having a heart attack.

“I need to be healthy so for me that’s moving my body and trying to be as healthy as I can for Stanley, it’s a balance between cutting myself some slack but also focusing on trying to be healthier.” And perhaps her journey to becoming a mum has put things into perspective for Amy.

She describes herself as “chronically single” before meeting Sam, even finding herself unlucky in love in the villa. But after seeing her nan, mum and auntie all go through early menopause, she got a fertility MOT and found she was heading in the same direction. Single and determined to protect her fertility, Amy froze her eggs at the start of 2021, before meeting Sam a few months later and falling pregnant naturally the following year.

She says, “If I hadn’t met someone I would have had a baby on my own, but I feel so lucky to have fallen pregnant once, it’s nice to have the eggs as an insurance policy as we don’t know if we might need them in the future. And if we don’t, then I will donate them.”

And Amy admits falling in love and having a baby feels like a dream come true. “I know you can meet the love of your life at any age, but obviously with children you only have a certain amount of time, so for me, I knew I didn’t want to miss out on that. At 35, I said I’d have a baby on my own. But now, maybe I’ll have two or even three by then! We’ll see what happens. For now, we just feel so lucky!”
