The ladies of The Real Housewives of Cheshire are no strangers to a nip and tuck here and there, and are pretty up front when it comes to revealing what work they've had done. We love the honesty.

Former show star Ampika Pickston recently took to Instagram to share an in depth look into her decision to go under the knife and get a 'reverse tummy tuck' procedure - and photographed EVERYTHING.

We're familiar with a tummy tuck, which is a cosmetic procedure that improves the shape of the tummy area. It can involve removing excess loose skin, fat and stretch marks and tightening the abdominal muscles.

We're not so familiar with a reverse one, though.

So, what is a reverse tummy tuck?

According to Pall Mall cosmetics, where Ampika chose to get hers done, a reverse tummy tuck 'does not impact the muscles and tissues of the lower abdomen'.

They explained, "This technique is often best suited to the people who have loose excess skin in the upper abdomen.

"The technique used means patients can expect a thin horizontal scar to remain after their surgery that is well hidden within the breast crease.

'After surgery patients will notice their upper abdomen is smoother and tighter, plus their breasts are also fuller immediately following a reverse tummy tuck."

It is also known as a reverse abdominoplasty.

What does a reverse tummy tuck do?

A reverse tummy tuck focuses on removing excess, loose, skin above the belly button. You'll be able to see the final results six months after having the procedure if all aftercare is followed.
