Victoria Beckham is making bold moves to show David she’s independent and happy to go it alone
As David Beckham prepares to move to Miami to launch his new football team, wife Victoria is gearing up to make some big changes to kick-start a "new dynamic" in their 20-year marriage.
The fashion designer is reportedly parting ways from her manager of 25 years, Simon Fuller, and has now signed to the same team that represent Adele and Kim Kardashian.

The former footballer also cut ties with Simon in May, paying him £65million for his share of Brand Beckham Holdings. A source says, "Victoria was inspired by David’s actions. He very much takes charge of his own career, and she wants to show him she’s happy to follow suit, and is still the fierce independent woman of her Spice Girls days – the person he fell in love with 20 years ago.
"She’s going to miss David massively while he’s in Miami, and she wanted to have a distraction. She feels making a bold move herself will prove she’s just as serious about business as he is; that she’s just as big a star and isn’t relying on anyone else.
"She hopes this separation will make them stronger and save them from all the speculation around their marriage.
"It’s a little bit of a case of tit for tat, but she wants to show him that she is capable of being on her own, and doesn’t need Simon to hold her hand through work matters. She’s ready to make more decisions by herself, and be independent."
Insiders recently told Closer how Posh, 45 – who shares Brooklyn, 20, Romeo, 16, Cruz, 14, and Harper, eight, with David, 44 – was upset after he eyed-up a £36million "bachelor pad"-style penthouse apartment in a city notorious for its party scene, which he has reportedly now purchased.
The couple faced intense scrutiny last year, amid rumours Posh was upset over David’s constant partying – with the pair being forced to shut down divorce rumors, before David admitted marriage was "hard work".
Last week, the family holidayed in Puglia, Italy, and the couple shared pictures together, showing them looking closer than ever – whereas previously the pair have faced criticism from trolls who claimed they seemed distant in photos. And insiders say Posh’s plans to reassert her independence are helping the pair reconnect.
The source says, "Like any marriage, they’ve been tested, and Vic knows they’re going to miss each other when he moves to Miami. They’re getting in lots of quality time during the school holidays. She knows David admires her even more now she’s made a big life change with her career. What she’s doing by being so assertive is starting to work, and bring them closer."
After Posh’s former bandmate Mel B revealed she’s "in the process of persuading" her to perform alongside them at Glastonbury’s 50th anniversary next year, despite snubbing their reunion tour, pals say Posh – who’s set to launch her new beauty line next month – is also eyeing up a New York pad for herself as part of her mission to focus on herself.
The source adds, "Vic’s always loved New York and has an office and showroom there, so she’s decided to buy a trendy loft apartment. If David has his own Miami bachelor pad, then she wants her own bachelorette pad. It’s all about a new dynamic in their marriage."

Last week Posh – who usually prefers to cover up in photos – showed off her defined abs in a crop top picture posted to Instagram. Pals say she’s starting to show off more of her body to gain some male attention and get on a level playing field with David.
The source says, "Vic is on a shape-up mission – she wants to build more muscle now, instead of being super slim. She’s overhauled her fitness regime to involve boxing, weight training and cycling, and upped her protein intake too.
"She thinks it’s a great way to keep busy while David is away, but she’s joked that, after years of David being the sex symbol, it’s her turn now. And if it benefits their marriage too, all the better."
