Tried and tested: our honest thoughts on the new Batiste Dry Conditioner

When first hearing about the new Batiste Leave In Dry Conditioner, there was definitely a sense of excitement from the launch. If you're a hair-care fan, you'll know the stress of keeping your hair in mint condition, as if you'd just stepped foot outside the salon. Having tried hair oils, masks, shampoos and conditioners to endless efforts, the news of a DRY conditioner that didn't need to be rinsed sounded like heaven.

So, let's get to it. First things first, the outside packaging is OG Batiste, with brilliantly bold colours and a range of gorg scents to choose from as expected - BUT, you may be surprised at what comes out of the bottle. It actually shakes up into a mousse. Bare with us, because it's not what you think - the mousse doesn't dry wet and there's no mess either.

With the texture in mind, unlike other sticky mousses on the scene (generally used to wet-down hair, rather than buff it up), the Batiste dry conditioner massages into your hair to leave a dry sheen that feels smooth but not greasy. Once you've put enough in, you'll see the lightweight product disappear into a shine on your hair.

Now, the results speak for themselves. As you can see above, on the third day after hair washing, the dry conditioner left my hair looking smooth and fresh, just as if it was washed. My hair is typically pretty dry from bleaching, but this product leaves it bouncy and sleek.

Even though it feels very lightweight, it has clearly made a difference. Usually, I have to tug and pull my hair with all kinds of styling tools but tthis compliments on the healthiness of my hair.

Overall? It feels like a nice addition to a hair routine if you want a little va-va-voom to freshen up and make your hair ready to go without much energy - and for the price point, I can really hardly complain. I'll definitely be picking up the Batiste dry conditioner when I want to have a fuss-free way of making my hair sleek, shiny and smell amazing.
