It was a row that shocked the Real Housewives of Cheshire fandom, but just who had the audacity to throw a drink at Rachel Lugo?
As the first episode of the new season hit screens, viewers waited patiently for all to be revealed during the highly anticipated party scene, but it turns out the moment was not to be aired. This is in itself a crime.
For the benefit of those who don't spend their downtime avidly following the cast of the ITVBe series on social media, here's what you missed; the gang were filming scenes at a lavish Cheshire party when SOMEONE threw a drink in Rachel's face, ruining her blow-dry and stripping a false eyelash from her face. A fair few of the Housewives shared that they were feeling a little worse for wear the morning after.
After the event, the cast shared droplets of information with their fans, and Nicole Sealey shared a video from the night in question, and yet the truth was not spilled.
Until now that is, as the victim of the incident has stepped forward and exposed all.
Rachel was answering questions on her Instagram and a follower asked, "Who threw the drink in your face since it never aired?"
She said, "They didn’t air it, did they? I did wonder, I wasn’t sure if there were cameras on us at the time."
It is a reality TV show, how are they not filming ALL THE TIME?
Rachel continued, "Nicole and I, we went over to the bar to get shots. We were being really silly, it’s a shame there wasn’t cameras on us, we were having a real giggle."
Rub it in Rachel, we missed all the funny antics and the #lashgate drama. Before offering up a sigh and a laugh, the Housewife confessed, "It was Nicole."
She went on to explain, "it was done in jest."
"I just don’t think she realised how full her glass was. But she actually ruined my blow dry, knocked my eyelash off and that was at the start of filming.”
The drama truly had us wrapped up in a "whodunit?" spiral. We were going to have to encourage Netflix to hop on a northbound train to Alderley Edge with Daniel Craig so they can use it as inspiration for the third Knives Out film.
Especially after Nicole broke a rather lengthy Instagram silence (which, frankly, led us to believe she had potentially quit the show) to reveal that she was in attendance at 'lashgate'. Nicole came up with that one and we thank her for it.
She posted a couple of rather confusing videos of Rachel in the bathroom of the infamous party venue (we know this because we've clocked her dress). See how Knives Out it was getting?
The Instagram story videos show Rachel doing her makeup as Nicole holds up a box of Eyelure lashes. Nicole captions the video 'absolute fav!' (which is either referring to Rachel or the lashes or both), tags Eyelure lashes, tags Rachel and writes, "#lashgate". We can only assume that Rachel went to the bathroom after losing her falsies following 'lashgate' and Nicole gave her a spare pair.
According to previous Instagram story updates from the likes of Rachel and Sheena Lynch, some of the cast were left shaken after filming scenes for the series, which led us to believe it was a true crime not drunken antics from Rachel's pal.
