It's a tale as old as time when it comes to reality telly, isn't it? Are the human drama magnets we're watching on our screens REALLY like this all time, i.e. off camera? Surely they are all just characters in a narrative and it's luck of the draw as to whether they come across as icons or villains?
Well, according to TOWIE star James 'Lockie' Lock, that's exactly the case. In fact, according to Lockie, one star of the hit ITVBe reality series is totally 'misrepresented'.
Him. Yep.
Earlier this week, show bosses released a trailer for the second half of series 31, teasing what's left to come from our Essex faves this summer. Spoiler alert: A LOT. On top of the usual tantrums, tears and tensions, the show teased a heated exchange between Saffron Lempriere and Lockie where she comes for the TOWIE hunk, saying, "Since your hair's got longer, you've become b-tchier". Meow.
But is that how Lockie sees himself? Apparently not.
In an exclusive chat with Closer at the launch of his new brand of gymwear, Levo, Lockie admitted to "always" being misrepresented in the show's edit time and time again.
He explained, "I’m always misunderstood. I speak before I think. The way I speak from where I’m from, people don’t always get. How I articulate myself isn’t always the best. I’ll say some stupid things even to the point where sometimes I come across too arrogant. I’m just confident with who I am."
Even if that's the case, we're still very excited to see what "b-tchy" comment Lockie made to warrant such a savage read from Saffron.
At the same event, Lockie also exclusively revealed to Closer how his TOWIE pal Dan Edgar was doing in the wake of his split Amber Turner, and revealed why things are a tad on the 'awkward' side when it comes Girlband's Queen B.
