TOWIE finally returned to our screens on Sunday 21 August as the cast jetted off to the Dominican Republic, and it wasn’t long before it all kicked off when a returning Ella Rae Wise accused Dan Edgar of “putting his hands on her waist” on a night out.
The drama didn’t end when the episode finished either, as both Ella and Dan – as well as his girlfriend Amber Turner – took to social media in the wake of the series premiere.
After Ella was forced to clarify her remarks that he touched her “inappropriately” earlier this week, Dan hit out at Ella’s “false” allegations in a statement and claimed that she was “taken out of filming” due to the matter.
He wrote, “I wasn’t going to say anything regarding TOWIE but some of the madness that has happened over the past week has left me with no choice but to address it.
“The things that have been spoken about on the show are completely false. The person this has come from was taken out of filming this week for making false and very damaging allegations in the press which have now been retracted. I can’t say too much on this matter as it is being dealt with legally. However please just bare this in mind when watching the show.”
Ella quickly responded on her own Instagram story and hit back, “Regarding Dan’s pathetic Insta story. The situation spoken about which happened on a night out at W Hotel is NOT lies. If I was to lie I would have made up a better one than that 🥱 Anyway for me to not have brought it to TOWIE that we all know is a show that revolves around our lives, I would have been shooting myself in the foot.”
Responding to Dan’s accusation that she was removed from filming, Ella said, “Correct I was removed from finale but for my safety.”
In a separate post, Ella continued, “I’m not going to be painted out to be a liar because that’s one thing I’m not. What happened with Dan was a simple hand hold & hands on my waist which I personally wouldn’t be happy about if it were my boyfriend. There were plenty of people around this night who see it happen, not only friends.”
She added, “I have NEVER made up a lie about Dan and NEVER would but what is now being said about me is a lie. I was never removed from TOWIE final for making things up, I was removed because Amber & Dan kicked off so bad about being around me that TOWIE decided to keep us separate.”
Meanwhile, Dan’s girlfriend Amber hit out at “pathetic” Ella and insisted she was “lying” about what happened with Dan.
“I wasn’t going to comment but I can’t bare the thought of people thinking for even a second that this rumour is true! The sheer desperation from that liar to get back on a show that they were axed from was motivation enough for her to make up a pathetic LIE.
“Spoiler alert – next episode you’ll see everyone that matters reactions and how obvious it is that she’s lying. Conveniently the only person that bare witness to this ‘event’ was her mate.”
TOWIE representatives have been contacted for comment.
