As we edge nearer to a brand new series of TOWIE, Essex legend Chloe Sims has opened about the news that the show will look a lot different and won't include the entire cast that featured on the latest season.

Back in August and completely out of the blue, the official TOWIE social media accounts announced in a statement that they will be axing some familiar faces, explaining, “TOWIE will be evolving with some changes.

"As it looks ahead to future series, the next instalment of our BAFTA award winning show returns to Essex to follow a smaller group of cast members."

They added, "This change allows our cast more time to film their real lives, showing more of their personal passions and professions, alongside their strong bonds and dynamics with family and friends ✨".

The move saw cast members Courtney Green, Chloe Meadows, Ella Wise, Kelsey Stratford, Clelia Theodorou, Harry Lee, Harry Derbidge, Tom McDonnell and Nicole Bass all left out of the line-up.

Many favourites were safe though, including Queen Chloe Sims, who survived the cull alongside her sisters Demi and Frankie.

Jake Hall, series 14 -17

Jake's time on TOWIE was mainly characterised by his on / off relationship with Chloe Lewis and his alleged cheating on her. He finally (sort of) confessed that he'd done the dirty with Megan McKenna in a very emosh scene on a park bench. Ah, precious memories.

As the cast headed to Sandbanks in Dorset to film scenes for the new series, Chloe admitted that the shake up separated those who were willing to be open about their lives compared to those who were more secretive.

Ella Wise reveals new career following TOWIE axe

She told The Sun, "I think it’s how open you are and need to be. I don't think the difference between the cast who have left and the cast who have stayed is anything to do with being legends. I think it's how much you’re willing to share; how raw you're willing to be.

"A lot of the cast who have left had private relationships off Towie and that doesn't really work because you have to share everything. I’ve been an open book and shared the ups and all the downs - and there’s been a lot of them."

She then added that she wasn’t too worried about being axed, “I knew I was coming back. I’m Chloe Sims. You’re joking. I’ve been here for 11 years. I wasn’t scared about the cull, let’s put it that way."

The new series of TOWIE will be back on ITVBe on 12 September at 9pm.
