We'll be honest, we have a lot of reality telly on our plate at the moment. We get it's our job and all, but with Love Island, TOWIE, Big Brother, Made in Chelsea, Married at First Sight and The Real Housewives of Cheshire, we've got our hands full... constantly. As such – as a general rule – we really don't have time for celebrity cooking shows. No shade.
Apart from Bake Off; first of all, that's baking, and second of all Alison Hammond and Prue Leith.
However, we have to say the new series of Celebrity Cooking School is seriously twisting our arm with their star-studded series 2 line-up; honestly, we swear once upon a time all of these names were on a Closer Christmas party list.
Amongst this glittering assemblage is Geordie Shore legend Scotty T (marking his return to television four years after getting sacked from the MTV series following a drugs scandal) and TOWIE OG James 'Arg' Argent. They're joined by – take a breath – Made In Chelsea star Olivia Bentley, actor Ruth Codd from The Fall of the House of Usher, lawyer and media personality Nancy Dell’Olio, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK queen Blu Hydrangea, rapper Nadia Rose, television personality Louie Spence, comedian and content creator Spuddz and former Strictly star Ann Widdecombe. Katie Price reportedly dropped out of the line-up days before filming started, FYI.
Okay, fine, we're listening, E4...
According to the broadcaster, "All that these celebs know about food to begin with is how to order it, but working solo and matched in pairs, this intensive cookery crash course has them sweating it out in the kitchen, as they hilariously tackle a series of complex cooking challenges well beyond their ability – leading to chaos in the kitchen.
"They’ll need to master crucial cookery techniques and gain confidence if they’re to be crowned ‘Best in Class’ at the end of the series. But if they don’t impress, they’ll get an F for Fail and leave the school for good."
You had us at 'chaos'.
The second series of Celebrity Cooking School will once again be hosted by presenter and DJ Melvin Odoom and will be judged by Michelin star chef, Giorgio Locatelli – who believes he can teach anyone how to cook.
Hmm...
