They found fame together on TOWIE, but Billie Faiers’ friendship with Ferne McCann dated back to their school days so fans were shocked last year when voice notes of a woman claimed to be Ferne making derogatory remarks about Billie and her sister Sam Faiers were leaked online.
Sam was branded a “fat c***” and a “narcissistic b**ch” in the voice notes, while Billie was labelled “weird” for naming her son Arthur – the same name as Ferne’s acid attacker ex Arthur Collins.
Since then, Sam and Billie’s mum Suzie Wells released a statement calling the voice notes “vile” while Sam has allegedly blocked Ferne on social media. However, fans have been questioning whether Billie and Ferne are still friends as they still follow each other.
Despite that, it seems that the pair are no longer friends as Ferne recently admitted she’s “mourning” their friendship on a recent episode of her show First Time Mum.
Discussing the voice notes on the show, Ferne broke down in tears as she explained, “When I listen back to the voice notes about [Samantha], I am literally.... I am so ashamed and embarrassed and I know the words are really hurtful and it was at a time when I was really hurting.”
She added, “Just to explain, they were from five years ago when me and Sam had fallen out. It's really hard for me to talk about.”
Ferne later opened up to mutual pal James Argent and told him, ‘I think the place that I was at, Sam had it all. She had a partner, she had a baby and I didn't.
“Yeah, I'm not condoning it. I did say something really nasty about her and it has affected my friendships. At the moment, my friendship with Billie... You know how much I... It's really hard.”
When asked by Arg if she’s contacted Billie and whether they’ll be able to resolve the situation, Ferne answered, “Yes and no. I understand the position she's in... I've tried to message her lots but I get it.
"I'm very much mourning the loss of a 22-year friendship. It's hard. I massively regret it but I'm unable to do a lot apart from my trust in the police, try and patch things back together..."
